A Texas State Trooper pulled a car over and told the driver that because he had been wearing his seat belt, he had just won $5,000 dollars in the statewide safety competition. "What are you going to do with the money?" asked the policeman.

"Well, I guess I'm going to get a driver's license," he answered.

"Oh, don't listen to him," yelled a woman in the passenger seat. "He's a smart aleck when he's drunk."

This woke up the guy in the back-seat, who took one look at the cop and moaned, "I knew we wouldn't get far in a stolen car."

At that moment, there was a knock from the trunk and a voice said, in Spanish, "Are we over the border yet?"

Thanks Cindi, I needed a humor break. My oldest daughter is getting married tomorrow. And it has been a little hecktic(sp) around here. Rehearsal and dinner tonite. If we make it through the next 24 hours. All this and then today I find out that lightning comes from the ground. My world seems to be upside down right now.

I just got back from the rehearsal for my daughter's wedding. Everything is going good so far. We have had some pretty bad thunder storms today. We got a little over 4" of rain so far. Lots of lightning. Every lightning strike I witnessed came from the clouds and went to the ground. I don't care what anybody says, I still haven't been convinced that lightning goes from the ground to the sky.

I think research shows that there is both air to ground and ground to air lightening.
