answered an ad in paper, decided to get some chicks to go with the guineas we got lst week. Guy lives just 6 or 7 miles from us. boy, he really lives away from all society, never find him if he didn't give directions. He has Pygmy goats, about 8, peacocks, chickens, pigeons, pea fowl, 3 dogs, couple cats, 4 horses, ducks, 6 or so geese, inside were white mice, a lot of them, more baby guineas and chicks, God knows how many rabbits of all ages, must have been a hundred, ducks, big and small, and flies all over the place. Looked like a minature zoo. Might have been more, he sure has a ton of cages about.I sure love the country, but not the way he lives. But, he looks satisfied for sure. says it does keep him busy, bet it does. Sure hope daughter picked out hens this time, don't know anyone that can really tell roosters from hens when they are small. Guess we are in the critter business again.

I know what you mean. We have a lady here that is the rabbit lady. Rabbits everywhere, plus she raises some kind of lovebirds. She was going to get me a phone number for something, I can't remember what, and she said..'come on in'.

I stepped up into her glassed in front porch and it was all I could do not to choke. Rabbits and birds and cages and stink everywhere. She's old and I know it's hard for her to keep up with things, but geez, I don't see how anyone can live that way.

A glance through the open door into the front room revealed more of the same. Birds in all stages of development filthy newspapers littering the floor. But, it's her livlihood I guess and she's happy with it. She loves her animals.
