Any of you ever get picked to do one of those Nielsen T.V. rating surveys? I got picked to do one for last week, I think the wife and I recorded a total of four hours of viewing time.

The wife did it a few months ago. I refused. She said it was amazing how much time she wasted every day with the tv on. 'Course a lot of the time it's just background noise while she's reading.

They called me a couple of years ago to ask if we would be a Nielsen houshold. They wanted us to write down every show we watched and the times, or allow them to put a box on the tv to record the info. I wouldn't let them put anything on the tv and the writing down sounded like a PITA so I turned them down.

Did the Arbitron thing for radio about 25 years ago, seemed like a waste of time to me.

No, but I did...    Posted 07-28-2003 at 10:09:43       [Reply]  [No Email]

I did the radio diary for Arbitron a few years ago, too. It turned out to be a waste of their dollar, I think. The only stations I turned on were S.C. public radio and the USC college station and they didn't list them in their ratings, only the commercial stations.

LOL...    Posted 07-28-2003 at 17:42:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
They got an earful from me...

Told em that my Father-In-Law and I listened to Stern, Mike Galegher, Rush, Don & Mike and then Phil Hendrie...

Talk is not big in this valley...
