I cross ocean,
poor and broke,
Take bus,
see employment folk.

Nice man treat me
good in there,
Say I need to
see welfare.

Welfare say,
"You come no more,
We send cash
right to your door."

Welfare checks,
they make you wealthy,
Medicaid it keep
you healthy!

By and by,
I got plenty money,
Thanks to you,
American dummy.

Write to friends
in motherland,
Tell them 'come as
fast as you can.'

They come in turbans
and Ford trucks,
I buy big house
with welfare bucks.

They come here,
we live together,
More welfare checks,
it gets better!

Fourteen families,
they moving in,
But neighbor's patience
wearing thin.

Finally, American guy
moves away,
Now I buy his house,
and then I say,

"Find more aliens
for house to rent."
And in the yard
I put a tent.
Send for family
they just trash,
But they, too,
draw the welfare cash!

Everything is
very good,
And soon we
own the neighborhood.

We have hobby --
it's called breeding,
Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist?
Wife need pills?
We get free!
We got no bills!

American crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare
running here.

We think America
darn good place!
Too darn good for
the American race.

If they no like us,
they can scram,
Got lots of room in
Pakistan .

I totally agree with the poem. Here in California we have them all. They can't even speak english and they get welfare. It is horrifing seeing everyone coming here from other countries taking your money and mine, and taking advantange of a system meant to help the ones who really need the help. We buy their cigerettes and drugs and pay to save their lives. They make NO effort to get jobs, and will not make an effort to speak english!! Education...50 percent of that was stolen from my son due to the fact half his classes were taught in spanish...hell we paid for our kids to get a losey education. They cater to these illegals and i am sick of it. The truth is the poem. I wish we would deport every illegal, and close the borders. It would save us billions and would be a safer place to live...grrrrrrr

nys has been a welfare state forever because of the blight on the southern most tip my mother( 92 years young) worked hard all her life she paid ss taxes from its start she gets a check from them for 520.00 a month NOW IF SHE WERE ADRUG ADDICT SHE WOULD RECEIVE 860 PER MONTH BECAUSE IT IS A SICKNESS LIKE SOMEONE FORCED THEM TO SHOVE THAT S--- UP THIER NOSE OR IN THIER ARM welfare was supposed to help people out during a crisis not for generations or non citizens

Yep, an insult to hard working, self-reliant Americans. They can explain it to God in person when they die. Honest folk need not worry as God will smile on your honorable life.

the poem addresses a lot of the abusers of the system. There are people who honestly need welfare and they should have it but there are a lot of people standing around doing nothing with their hands out too.

As far as reach for the stars, the expression doesn't mean you should TAKE the stars, it means you should make something of yourself so you can BE one of the stars.

OMG that's the most offensive thing I've read in a long
time. You sure you want me to forward this testament to
bigotry, stereotyping and predjudice?

Reddee    Posted 07-29-2003 at 19:31:38       [Reply]  [No Email]
I sure don't understand what it is that you find so offensive!!! What I find offensive is that this poem hits a little too close to my pocket book. As others have said here, we the taxpayers, are the ones paying for this!! Not only the foreigners who come here to get their educations and then take our jobs but worse our own people who think that they are entitled to sit back and let the working man pay their bills for them while they cry underpriviledged. No I see nothing offensive about this TRUTH!! SORRY if your offended.Makes me wonder WHY??? REDDEE

I find it offensive because it stereotypes welfare cheats
as certain types of people. It stereotypes foreigners as
mooches. Interestingly enough where I live the
foreigners are the professionals and the welfare
mooches are all American. Should I then assume that
Americans are inherently lazy? Wouldn't that be

And BTW those proffesional foreigners are all scientists
and doctors, engineers and the like. Do a little research
and you will find that:
-the US is lagging so far behind in math and science
education that we do not produce enough scientists of
our own. We have to import them. If you have a
problem with that, then I suggest we do something
about our shoddy education system instead of writing
or disseminating visceral works of predjudice.

-BTW, foreign students have to pay their own way when
they go to school here. I went to school with one
Iranian girl in particular who ran out of money in her
junior year. The INS's response: "here's your hat,
what's your hurry?".

-People don't generally stow away in ship holds, risk
drowning in rivers and asphyxiating in container ships
to come here and mooch off the government. They
come here for opportunities not generally offered
elsewhere. This is of course a generalization. In
general, people come here and work their butts off, live
like vagrants, etc to send money home, to send kids to
school, extra training, etc so that their offspring would
have it easier.

Don't get me started on welfare. Everyone in my family needs medical care that we can't get becuase we can't afford six or seven hundred dollars a month for insurance. We have been taught as americans to reach for the stars but when we do our hands are slapped.

Jimbob    Posted 07-29-2003 at 11:38:15       [Reply]  [No Email]
For those that need health insurance, most states have a program to at least cover your children. In MI it is called 'My Child'. This will reduce the adult(s) coverage to $200 per Mo for most in good health once your children are covered.

I second that motion, and I agree with the poem. Anyone who doesn't has not had a healthy dose of reality handed to them recently. as in being unemployed.

toolman    Posted 07-29-2003 at 10:37:46       [Reply]  [No Email]
that poem is exactly the way it is , especially here in canada, and if people are offened by it, well you had better wake up , because it,s the truth, least ways up here.welfare dollars are tax dollars , they come out of the working person s pocket, and their is just so much to go around.

Cindi    Posted 07-29-2003 at 11:20:47       [Reply]  [No Email]
That's right. People work their butts off to pay taxes, but let one of those working people need help from that system and you might as well forget it. You have to know how to work the system in order to benefit from it.

Sven    Posted 07-29-2003 at 13:12:24       [Reply]  [No Email]
if anyone figures out how to work the system, maybe they could let the rest of us know?

Cindi    Posted 07-29-2003 at 14:55:05       [Reply]  [No Email]
I think it's something that has to be handed down from generation to generation.

Sven    Posted 07-29-2003 at 16:27:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yes, it does seem to be hereditary.

When my oldest was a tyke we went to get her enrolled in preschool. We were told that there were only a very limited number of slots available and that the first ones would go to social services kids then to children of single parents but that they would put our name on a waiting list. It's amazing that I'm the one paying the taxes and supporting the school system but that others are the ones that get the benefit.
A good friend of mine and his girlfriend had a child they lived together for years and both had decent jobs. When the baby was born the social services people were at the hospital the same day forcing programs on this woman just because she was by law a single mother. The more folks they have enrolled and the higher percentage of welfare recpients the county can show the state and federal goverment the better thier budget is.
