well, i was trying not to think about it. its not the whole house, that i want to basement just one end of the house. i'm going to have to do something since the north foundation is and has been settling since i was a kid. i need the basement for heating/utility needs. i just know how bad i am about finishing projects. i can see the the kitchen setting up on beams and blocks (kinda like that 78' camaro beside my shop). i'm thinking about making a basement "hatch" cover like the ones that cover basement steps in the movies. (we don't have them around here for some reason, we just let it rain down the stairway. anyway, i thinking of making the hatch long and wide enough for me to drive my miniexcavator down a ramp and work on the project as i have time. i havenot run up on any beams for temporary support yet. did i mention that i'm having reoccuring nightmares about the house rotting/falling apart?! maybe it was to my shrink. anyway, i'm thinking its probably getting too late in the season to do anything but get information and supplies to start next year. have i mentioned that i'm too cheap to hire other people to do work around here? maybe that was to my shrink. The pains of being a jack of all trades, master of none.
