Lilacs blooming on August 28!!!

I stopped at the campground this afternoon to drop off a part for my brother and couldn't believe my eyes. The lilac bush just off the corner of the porch was in bloom!!! Wish I had a picture to show you all.
My sister in law spread a bunch of calcium chloride near it early in the summer to keep dust down and to kill grass and darn near killed the lilac bush in the process. It did survive, barely, and what's left of it now has blossoms. It's as confused as Ole Cuss's little doe goat.

i'm so glad i found you!!!
i'm getting married in august and DESPERATELY want to carry lilacs. i'm in atlanta now (i loved teh atlanta post), but the wedding is in connecticut. do you guys think there is any chance that i won't have to have lilacs imported from Venus on august 14??
please drop me an email if you have any thoughts!!
