The Gay Thang

Here is the deal..ok..so some people don't like gay people and others have nothing to say right?? The thing is is that a spirit is asexual..It is neither male nor female and I think this is where people get really confused!! Just because a woman comes across as rugged or a man is in touch with his feminine side doesn't mean they are gay or straight. This is a silly topic better let alone and when any of us responds to the crap that only makes the person who started it happy by getting a rise out of us. I did find it funny tho that some of us responded by making sure everyone KNEW who was straight and who wasn't.. LOL

Even my young children are aware of gay 'this & that' due to all the 'press' the gays have received in the last few years.

Perhaps it is part of the Bible Revelations as being in the last days!

I guess maybe we misunderstood the post down below. Us in this generation (Maynard G. Krebs) know what square is, but the gay thing stumped us. If we wrongfully offended someone I apoligize. BTW Salmoneye how did ya get so informed on this new vernacular?

I have neices and nephews that like to use the latest and 'greatest' terms they learn in school...And they go to a Catholic School ta'boot...

Sad, but I guess they are no worse than their mother and I were at that age...

Our Mom is still confused by some of the terms that we learned 25 years ago in school...

Hi my name's Ron and I'm a Homophobe,, Yep it's true. Nope I don't hate them, I joke with them, have a beer with them, even go to church with them, however they make me VERY uncomfortable, can't help it, it's what I believe, and how I think. The ones that I know understand exactly how I think about the subject. Now then you should understand that I have many other Phobias like spiders, copperheads, rattlesnakes, and rats bigger than my beagles. I don't hate them either but I stay away if I can.
I guess I'm straight, I'm not sure cause in the last 28 years of marriage, I gotta tell ya, some days I haven't been all that fond of wimmens either! Most days I am but some days the wimmens can make me very uncomfortable as well,
hmmm now does that mean?? Oh well never mind!
I just know that I'll never be PC enough to figure what there is to be so darned GAY about to be a homosexual. I used to like to be gay, now I when ever I feel gay I don't mention it anymore, cause when I do, I ain't so happy with the way folks look at me, and it takes all the joy out of being gay for a day.
Later
Ron

maybe he thought the people on this site were jovial and were enjoying them selves, think about when you were younger or maybe some of you were not around lomg enough to remember what gay realy meant

BOSS    Posted 08-19-2003 at 04:31:56       [Reply]  [No Email]
It did make for a good thread though. So we should thank the kid for contributing.

Oh yeah, I'm straight....just so you all know.

Huh?    Posted 08-19-2003 at 04:02:34       [Reply]  [No Email]
The whole thread was started by a kid passing through that thought we were squares...

Had nothing to do with where it went...

Good Mid Day to you Salmoneye...

I don't think any here are Square..
but this is a great and wonderful
friendly place to meet real people
down to earth and with their heads
screwed on straight. hehe

Nice to see you today... How is your
Eastern World doing today?

California is blistering in my area...

ret    Posted 08-19-2003 at 14:14:43       [Reply]  [No Email]
just a thought that you and Ladyhawke ought to be running for govenor. You could get on TV and get interviewed by all the news people. Now the nuts in Fla can laugh at the nuts in Ca

Suzy Q    Posted 08-19-2003 at 14:27:30       [Reply]  [No Email]
Granted there are some NUTS here in California
;but I'm not one.. hehe

It is amazing how many outside of California
are coming here to stir up the pot more.

Wee Willy is advising Gray Davis on how to
manuver... hehe hopefully not the same way
that Jesse Jackson advised him... hehe

Between the ACLU ADL NAACP DNC RNC Libertarians
Green Party etc... We have a manageree that does
look more like a three ring circus...
Couple all that with the 137 running for Governor after the voters expel Davis. haha

Seriously though it is not a laughing matter.

Like Clinton, Davis is huridly making Judical
Appointments, Pardon and scurrying to make his
Mark and raise taxes here in California.

darn shame too, lived there 30 years. Willy ought to run, he would think of some way to get in.

Suzy Q    Posted 08-19-2003 at 15:38:52       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hi ret... yup...California is going down the tubes with the current leadership and the now
three ring circus is building up.

Where are you now living, is this where you
moved after leaving our state?

ret    Posted 08-19-2003 at 18:56:46       [Reply]  [No Email]

LH    Posted 08-19-2003 at 04:45:35       [Reply]  [No Email]
Man Salmoneye I have a hard enough time understanding plain english let alone all this modern slang. I probably am square by lots of folks standards but Im also straight and not a homophobe like lots of folks are

name calling isn't nice!    Posted 08-19-2003 at 05:05:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
Just because somebody disagrees with the crowd, they're a "homophobe"?

I don't care for name-calling anywhwere or anytime, but I especially resent that particular label.

No Tom by being a homophobe I beleive that means a person who has an actual fear of Gays just because they are gay or even just perceived to be gay by the person with homophobia.I may not agree and I certainly odnt condone the gay lifestyle but my opinion is its an individuals choice and not up to me to be judgemental of others as long as they are not attempting to harm anyone

Cindi    Posted 08-19-2003 at 06:13:31       [Reply]  [No Email]
The name is clinical. Homophobia, is the actual fear of HOMOsecksuals. I'm not afraid of them, and I also do not dislike them. I just don't agree with the lifestyle any more than I agree with skydiving or bullfighting or base jumping. It's not for me, and I am thoroughly uninterested in the exploits.

by the way Salmoneye    Posted 08-19-2003 at 06:16:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
is right....it was a commentary on this site, not a topic of conversation. Typical post made by someone who is probably not intensley literate and does not have the ability to determine that it may be taken out of context due to the short text. Cindi

Aprille    Posted 08-20-2003 at 16:00:33       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Hmmm..Cyndi?? I am highly literate..actually there were various comments made and I thought this entire discussion went very well and no one took offense to anything..so may I ask please why you are lashing out at me and insinuating that I may not be intensely( note: this is the CORRECT spelling)literate?? Thank you..
