I tried, it's not working. Maybe someone can give me some instructions as to how to do it. I tried copy and paste and that didn't work.

Never mind, I figured it out.

that pretty much says it all how southern b.c and south west alberta have been living since the end of june.

pretty much all of the southern part is , they just issused a travelle advisory if you don,t have to they stay out, if people don,t stay out of the back country then they are going to start charging them as well , it,s very bad here , i just saw something blow up on the ridge across from me in the past 15 minutes.

bre    Posted 08-21-2003 at 17:15:27       [Reply]  [No Email]
they're actually considering a complete travel ban for all b.c. if more forest fires spring up. that means no going anywhere. my boyfriend's twin sister lives in kelowna and we're figuring she'll be evacuated soon and staying here if firefighters don't get the upperhand soon. and the news reports that the fire is burning way too fast for the firefighters to do anything but wait. although i hear that the weather is cooler today and the winds switched. everyone out there take care of yourselves.

heres a stat for you bre last year in b.c. they dropped 2million litres of fire retardent or water so far this year they dropped 34 million litres, amazing.

last night it was buring at 50 meters a minute, the winds are supposed to switch around and come out of the south and blow it north towards kelowna, nothing they can do to stop it at present, too smokey for the bombers and choppers to fly , they did build a 17 mile long cat guard between it and kelowna but they don,t expect that to hold , they brought in some fire behavor expert and now they are trying to burn the fuel between the guard and the fire if that don,t work then they had better pray that them bombers can fly again, that will be the last hope, kelowna is a big city to evac that many people is going to be a big job.

if its not heading towards kelowna then its headed towards penticton. it seems like a lose - lose situation unless they are able to contain it. but the firefighters seem to be spread pretty thin with over 800 forest fires burning in b.c. right now. i know that off duty firefighters from calgary are heading out to help on their days off. my boyfriends reporting to military base in wainwright, alberta for infantry training next week but is thinking that he'll end up getting sent out to fight fires out there.

toolman    Posted 08-21-2003 at 18:21:57       [Reply]  [No Email]
yes the calgary firefighters are comming to cranbrook , we have some bad ones here too , munore lake is in danger of buring up as well as the plumbob area , not as high profile for the coast news media , but the calgary firefighters are welcome here and they are sure needed.
