I have a rain barrel under one of my rain gutters and I keep getting mosquito larva in it.I don't want to put anything in the water to kill the bugs because I use the water for plants.I was walking in my backyard last week and about 75feet away from the water barrel I found a frog in some water, inside of an old truck tire that was leaned up against my wood pile.I then got a brilliant idea.I put the frog in the rain barrel with a piece of wood for him to set on.I then put a cloth over the barrel to keep him from jumping out.I checked up on him several times a day and he seemed to be having a real good time in there. After about four days a really bad storm came through here with high winds that blew the cloth off of the barrel and then the rain flooded everything including the rain barrel. The frog was gone and I couldn't find him anywhere.I figured he was somewhere in that woodpile and I would never see him again.I made a habit of looking in that old tire for him but I knew that A frog wasn't that smart.Well on the third day after the storm there he was back in the same old tire.He looked real happy to be home so I left him alone.

If you're not drinking the water yourself you might want to try mosquito dunks. Little critters kill mosquitoes, harmless to everything else.

Clay leave nature alone, if you aren't careful you will have that frog wiping out the whole west nile crisis like you wiped out the coon in the attic crisis. Them politicians are none too bright you know, you have no appreciation how much work it took them to come up with the west nile thing now you risk spoiling it for them.
Later Bob
