You should be able to do a search using something like "Vermont Real Estate", or some such a thing as that, and find out more than you'll ever need to know. Them real estate people is pretty good at marketing themselves, in case you didn't know.
Maybe it isn't this way everywhere, but here in NH (and I suspect the same is true for VT) it is definitely a seller's market. Might want to wait just a bit before taking a plunge.
Where do you live now?

Hey there, Les

Well, we are now living in Houston, TX....weird, huh? Actually moved here because we had a job waiting... The night we moved, we had a major car accident outside of Baltimore, rear ended by a Salesman driving a Land about luck. If you're going to get hit, get hit by someone who can afford to pay your hospital bills!

Anyway, we had no where to go but to Houston, to live with my brother while we are awaiting surgery, and final settlements. Actaully, if we can afford to, we want to move before the settlement. We Hate it here...scares the living crap outta us, if I can be so blunt.

Maybe this sounds all funny to you, and I'm not being scarcastic, but I am reaching out and asking around.

I can't tell you how many times I've cried over having moved down here. We had a nice little rented home in Pennsylvania, but prices are high there. I lost my job, which was the main $$ job in the family, and this changed everything.

Obviously it must of clouded my judgement too, because what we left was not as bad as what we have had to deal with since we got here.

When it all comes down to it, and it is no doubt romantic thinking on my part; but I've always loved the area of New England...since I was a kid. Now, with a husband and dog...things change, and the northern regions have taken on a different perspective. We aren't city people, the only time we dress up is to go our congregation...

Night life? Well, we usually rent a movie, sit out and watch the stars, chat a bit, read, paint, play with the dog, work in my garden...

All that sort of exciting stuff....haha...otherwise, I always like having company over.

We are not yuppies (geez, does that word exist anymore?)

Anyway, that's my story. I just thought I would ask folks who are not real estate related...and are not in it for the money. We're just checking around and what to hear from other folks who live in the area.

Thank again for your trouble,

Like was said earlier, northern NH and the "Northeast Kingdom" of VT are probably the cheapest places in these two states. I still think you otta take a look on the internet like others have suggested to see what you're up against. I'd be glad to help you if I can. My job is travelling around most of NH on a weekly basis.
Yes, New England is pretty but it ain't for everybody. Last winter was brutal. The worst I can remember in many, many years. It do get kind of discouraging at times.

Even I had Cabin Fever last year...And that had never been an issue before...Winter held on like the head of a tick...

Snow a$$-deep to a 9-foot Indian I can deal with (please, no PC lectures)...Keeps you busy at least...That dang months-long cold without a break makes me as ornery as the humidity did last month...

You start looking forward to the January Thaw...And when it does not come...You don't even have the energy to go sit and drink in the shanty, for petes sake...

Is she the one that moved from Florida to Tennessee this past year? She still heading in a northward direction, must be looking for cooler temperatures.

Let me know when you're ready to sell that camp and I'll tell Mutt and Trevor. Mutt really wants it. Before it falls down.
