I've seen a few pole barns with precast concrete piers sunk into the ground, and the wood posts bolted onto the top. They weren't cast in place. I'm trying to remember the company that makes these - anyone have any ideas?

well first off why wouldnt ya just use sauna tubes and cast them in place so ya dont need to have heavy equipment to lift giant concrete piers. the one other problem is that i think the idea of a pole barn is that the posts are held upright by the ground so they give some rigidity to the building so it seems just bolting them on the top would take some real heavy duty brackets work
