I now have a new appreciation for the reasons you gave up growing corn in your garden...

The deer last night took at least half my little patch of Lancelot...The real pi$$er is that I was supposed to supply the corn for our Sunday Dinner at Moms tomorrow...And had promised the rest to The Girl so she could sell it at the end of the drive like a 'Lemonade Stand'...

If I have the heart, I will take a pic and post it before I go to Moms' in the AM to finish my hogging of her woodlot road...Should have only taken me 3 hours, but did four this AM, and am still only half done due to the number of trees that are down...

Beech Bark Beetle has run amock in there...What a waste...Might get a few cord of firewood out of the deal, but not going to get the money that they were worth alive and standing...

Then I come home to find the corn all on the ground...

My neice who lives IN Anchorage AK sent me this picture of her front yard "art". It seems every year the moose come in and eat the little hedge around their yard. She says you don't go outside and try to scare off a full grown moose as they are just a little possessive of their territory.
I have two apple trees that are dropping apples everywhere BUT the deer are starting to clean up the apples that are on the ground. Saves me the work.

Coons, deer, bears and borers. I didn't mind the borers so much. I could eat around them. But the other three didn't leave much TO eat.
I just growed some ornamental corn this year. Never tried it before. So far, so good. Must be it don't taste too good to the varmints.
