You'll enjoy working with the stuff. It is very easy to weave and wears like iron. Definently easier than cane or rush on the backsides too.
Good luck to you on whatever it is you are doing with the tape.

Mike, we're buying a house this month and starting to furnish it. Bought the little lady 6 chairs with rush seats and a couple need some work. Give her something to do.
I have always liked the look of the Shaker tape. Maybe on a rainy day she'll even get me to help her.

Congrats on the house. The chairs are a fun project. None of ours are the same. Two were old frames we found in barns. The Kennedy rocker I did was a thrift store buy for fifteen dollars. We have rocked miles on that thing with our 2 small boys and the tape only shows a milk stain here or there. Use a good quality foam pad in between the tape. Very comfortable, and they will outlast cane by decades if you keep them clean, dry, and out of the all day direct sun. Keep us posted on the project. Most of all enjoy the results!
