Took my ten yr old daughter and her friend to the York Fair last night. Must have seen over a hundred 14 to 18 yr old girls walking around with pacifiers. What is that about?

It's about.....    Posted 09-10-2003 at 10:36:24       [Reply]  [No Email]
drug usage....a lot of these kids are going to pay a terrible price for it...."the stupid shall be punished" .....nuff said.

It seems that recent generations have each had their drug of choice. The burning question is what will be next and what will be the cost to the individual and to society.....

....about the Ecstacy thing. This kind of behavior is especially prevalent at "raves" or parties where Ecstacy is widely used. There was a big series in our local paper that had a reporter basically go underground attending many of these parties. It's wider-spread than many of us can imagine. But the pacifier helps with the dry mouth and teeth grinding.

They also make hard candy suckers that look like pacificers now.

Dunno what it's about, but that can't be an attractive sight to see. With the hair do's that look like they haven't been combed in a week and a pacifer sticking out of their mouth, I'd be sorely attracted to the carnies working the ring toss.
I pity the parents of new borns, and envy gerber.
I suspect this will do for "binkies" what they did for blue jeans and pick up trucks.
There was a time I thought I was safe in either one and could afford them,, hehehe boy was I wrong!

A lot of them using pacifiers are doing so because they are taking the drug, Ecstacy, which makes a person grind their teeth and chew the inside of their mouth if they don't have it. Many are just using them as a copycat thing, to try to look 'cool', but this is how it started.

Makes me want to snatch them all bald headed.

Just another cry for attention, fad thing designed to give parents the heeby jeebys. It works. There was one of those rap stars carrying one for awhile and I think that's what started it. I have even seen them with baby bottles containing alcoholic beverages.

Snatch them bald headed? I like that-The first time I ever heard that expression was in the movie Driving Miss Daisy-you're the first person other than myself that I've heard use it!!

My mother used to threaten me with this on a daily basis. Also to yank off my arm and beat me to death with the bloody stump. She had an entire repertoire of hideous things that she would threaten to do and then grin at me. If she meant to do me harm, she would send me out to the 'switch' tree. That's the only time I ever got nervous.

That is the reason we live in no-wheres land. No wierdos & no drugs, just fresh air & beautiful landscape.

Highly recommended.
