counting blessings-    Posted 09-24-2003 at 08:39:15       [Reply]  [No Email]
Many of you went through this Isabel storm. We were spared any real hardship. We cooked on a campstove, and used a lantern. Played board games, read books to the kids. Flushed the toilet with water from the bathtub. Patched a roof. Cleaned up a lot of debri.

When you can still count all the heads that bob around, you are blessed indeed.

AMEN!!
Glad you and yours are survivors.
It makes you re evaluate the important things in your life.

Thanks Lenore,
Here we've seen utility trucks from Wisc., Ga., N.C., and Ind. These guys load up a suitcase and jump in a cherrypicker and head out. Sad thing is there are a few of these workers that are not returning home. It is a dangerous business. I'm sure Les would weigh in on how serious it can get.
There is an old hymn that I used to hear. Something like -count your blessings-, name them one by one-- etc. Sure boils down that. Mike
