COON CATCHER CLAY    Posted 09-24-2003 at 18:12:17       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I am very sorry that I decided to share this incident on this web site.I had no idea that it would ruffle so many feathers.I admit that this was probably an isolated incident and should not be used as a generalization of educated people.I am sorry that so many people took offense at this.P.S.I sometimes shop at Walmart and I like the friendly people that work there.P.S.S. I no longer associate with the man in the story because of his self serving, superior attitude.I personally am at ease around college grads and high school drop outs.I just adjust my vocabulary accordingly

Why, it's the most fun this place has had in a long time. You may just get a "dicky do" award or sompin for this thread.

"The lack of verbal inflections on a message board can be easily misinterpreted."
Point taken, I'll eat some crow.

Don't go eating too much crow;
we dont want to have to be huntin home remedies for a crow overdose.
We might find some good recipes though.

For your penance just go over to Wally World
and say something nice to one of those hopeless employees.
Be gentle though, they are not used to kindness.
Just think of what a sometimes thankless job they have,
just to put groceries on their table.

Have a great day, Paul.

Clay, I've been too busy to post much lately, but have been reading this whole thread and I think Grouch said it best. In fact, he took the words right out of my mouth! You didn't do anything that needs an apology, so don't worry about it. There would be somebody who would complain if it started raining money.

I beleive the saying goes something like this.

"He would complain even if you hung him with a new rope."

I did not take offense to your thread.
I thought it was interesting and surprising that someone would do that.
Surprising but not impossible.
Maybe if someone else even thought of using antifreeze like that,
they know better now.
We share things on here that we find out there in the "real world".
I learn new things here every day;
I find learning this way fun.
The lack of verbal inflection on a message board can easily be misinterpreted.
So it is best not to keep your feelings out on your shoulder like that proverbial chip.

No need to apologize. And there's nothing wrong with hanging around people that do stupid things unless it's something that may harm you. I'd be careful about taking a drink with that fellow! ;^)

Some of these folks would complain if you gave 'em the goose that laid gold eggs. They'd be bitchin about the size or number of eggs and not having the right food for it.

Some of us have college degrees; some of us do not. Makes no difference. Some college-educated people are snobs; some less educated(formal) people are snobs. It works both ways. Some of the smartest and most educated people in the world have very little formal education; some do not. There are some people with many degrees that have a bunch of common sense. Apology accepted. Let's be sweet.

No offense taken here, I am not real educated myself, go around singing "if I only had a brain".
