Arrest at our high school
[Return to Topics]

One of the teachers where my daughter attends school was arrested for possession of child pornography, both on his computer at home and at school. He was caught by a substitute teacher who accidently stumbled over and opened some files on his class room computer. Most alarming was the fact that he had taken pictures of kids at the school and superimposed their faces on pornographic pictures. Population 4500 or thereabouts and we have someone like this in our school. Scary.

ANYWAY THESE TWO GUYS IN THERE 30S TO 40S...HOW GROSS.

Hey you can be darn sure there's more than one parent at that school who's doing the same thing if not worse, why be surprised at a teacher doing it?

Just don't understand how one can be so darn 'twisted'.

Major mental illness.

Thats the field I work in. A few years ago We ended up jailing several people, including the chief of a volunteer fire department. It strung out to Thailand and back. resulting in the first pedophile to be placed on the FBI Ten Most Wanted List. I actually, by mere coincidence. spent some time with the Thai Officer who made the arrest.

With the internet, this material is so much more accessable; but easier to track. As you can see from these posts, it's more prevelant than most people would think.

Happened a couple weeks ago in the town just south of me. 4th grade teacher. The whole valley is quite stunned by the revelation.

See things like that everywhere Cindi. Had one of the local "little men with big tin badges" from a town near here get caught with child porno a couple years ago. Big stink for awhile, he got canned from the force & moved away. I think he got some time in the pokey too. I heard that the hard-core inmates just love it when a cop or a child porno/molester comes to live with them for awile. I just bet he didn't enjoy his visit to the big house in Huntington County ;)
Yesterday's paper had an article about a guy in his '70's convicted of child molestation. He was a janitor/handyman at a daycare center. He had kids of his own, plus grandkids and greatgrand kids. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? That guy is an old order Amishman too. What we call "plain" around here. Flat hat, beard, horse & buggy, the whole works.
Just shows that no community is immune to it, no age group, no denomination either. It's sad.

Just had a gentleman? arrested around here for the same thing. He had something to do with the Junior Ambulance er somthin like that. Sold pot to the kids showed em XXX video's coerced them into acts. I found pics of 14 year olds with nothing on on the PC of a firefighter in another town. It's everywhere. We must be vigilant as parents.

To all young parents:

Make yourself known at your child's school.

Be there. The brats will notice and your children will feel safe. Keep your mouth shut though. Just be a presence.

Well, I know this guy wasn't.

As to your prosectuer, could be, and also could be a well planned out response to getting caught. Who knows.

Our guy moved here recently from California so no one knows him well or can really speak to his character.

There wifes turned these guys in. They had a bunch of stuff on there computers at home and were logged in to many sites as regulars!! The Sherif had a curtian installed on his window in his office too. He also did a lot of checking into how to clean computers of ther cookies and such. Mark H.

If liberal left leaning politicians and judges keep getting elected and appointed,
soon all this will not be illegal at all.
How can you teach these things in the name of "sex education" in the public schools;
and turn around and arrest people for actually doing them?
Talk about confusing to youngsters!!
Think about it.

slim    Posted 10-01-2003 at 07:42:53       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yep, have to agree with you on this one. The far left and ACLU want you to believe that this is just "free speech" or that it's "art". This is definitely a liberal problem. We need to be able to prosecute, lock up, and throw away the key on people associated with child smut.

With this said I am not trying to say that the far right is without problems too. Their's tend to be more like can't mention sex, birth control, where babies come from, etc. But that's another issue and I digress.

Slim, what happened at Cindi's kids school and other places is terrible. Child porn and everything related to it, is and should be illegal. I think everyone agrees to that.

I consider myself a liberal, and I think this guy, and anyone like him should be locked up. This type of thing has nothing to do with liberals or conservatives. It's illegal and wrong no matter what side of the political spectrum you're on.

slim    Posted 10-01-2003 at 10:02:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
I have to disagree with you on this one. I read what I wrote and probably did come across too strong if I implied that liberals think child smut is OK. Only sicko's think it is OK.

What I meant is that typically liberals want to "expand" certain supposed "rights". Sometimes sicko's use this expanded or new definition of rights to try and force this stuff on us. Then you get to a liberal judge who is more interested in expanding his power than in enforcing the intent of the constitution's framers. That's why it's OK to have porno movies and nudie bars now. It's all art and freedom of speech and expression you know! This is what I was trying to say but did a poor job of it.

And to balance things out you will have to admit that I said the far right has its problems too. If the ultra conservatives had their way all women might be wearing burkas now.

Just my opinion which I am entitled to.

later, lunch time

Slim, extremists on either the left or right are not usually a good thing. I'll agree with you on that.

Pitch    Posted 10-01-2003 at 16:15:24       [Reply]  [No Email]
Probably isn't anymore of this goin on now than there ever was. It's just with instant worlwide communication and media it's just better publicized. Also remember 150 years ago girls were married off at 14 to 15 years of age and usually to much older men. This was because strictly speaking girls were pretty much useless around the farm in those days. They were married to much older men as the old guy was usually better off financially and able to support the girl while taking full advantage of her productive years. Before you go dragging out your "Womens Studies" books and beating me to death with them check the facts. I'm not sayin that it was right, but it is the way things were done. That being said we have advanced as a people and these pervs need to spend the next twenty or so years as Bubba Bendovers roomate.

James    Posted 10-01-2003 at 20:07:26       [Reply]  [No Email]
Right!!!

It is easy to get involved.

And your influence, support and guidance for youngsters will make positive change in your neighbourhood.

Henry    Posted 10-01-2003 at 17:16:47       [Reply]  [No Email]

Don't just talk indignation. BOYCOTT!

Boycott every company that you think promotes smut. And then let them know by e-mail why you will not buy their products.

Money - not morals - is the bottom line for some of the upper crust.

You and I have more sway than you can imagine.
