I live on the olympic peninsula in Wa. state.we often see subs heading out to sea or returning.saw one tuesday afternoon heading out faster than i've seen one move.if you've never seen a Trident sub about the only way to describe them is very ominus-huge,long, black, low in the water-thought to myself awful glad it's on my side.lets all pray the weapons on these massive machines will not be used in the coming war.

Spent 4 years in the 7th fleet in the early 80's. Although I wasn't on one of the carriers, you haven't seen nothin till ya seen one of them 100,000 ton ships put the pedal down. They mostly cruise around doin the usual 30 knot fleet speed. Their top in isn't openly published, saw the Nimitz leave a Russion spy ship behind with a 50 foot roaster tail shootin out the back in the Indian Ocean. Could tell stories all day, but we used to give them Russians a bad time during the cold war.
