Thanks for the responces everyone.

I treated the dog this morning with the sweet oil. And then this evening I gave him another dose. I will watch him for a couple of days. If he ain't better by Friday, I will take him to the vet. He needs his rabies shot now anyways.

This is the dog that jumped out of the truck as I was taking him out to the new place. Took him to the vet and they exrayed him. Broken pelvis. Vet told me to keep him confined for 6 weeks and he should be ok.

That was a little over 2 months ago, and he is just like he never had anything wrong. I only kept him confined for a couple of weeks. And then very limited for about 3 weeks.

Now if I can get rid of the ear problem, we will both be happy.

Charles, I hope your dog will be ok. I hope he's not a purebred anything. I've found over the years that the purebreds have all kinds of health issues and the mutts/mixes are tough as old shoe leather and just keep bouncing back. Sounds like you might have a good mix. good luck with your dog! :)

He is a golden retriever. I have always wanted one. He is a lot of fun and fairly smart. He doesn't have papers, but I don't care. I had a couple of mixed dogs, that turned up missing about a year ago. They were really good dogs.
