"Atroban" animal insectacide has been found to be quite effective as a contact spray. This is a water mix livestock insectacide effective against flies, ticks, lice etc.Available from livestock supply stores etc, except in CA.Web search will bring up specifics of content/data sheets.

If you don't have anyone allergic to it, I've found that Raid flying insect spray applied to windows will kill the little (expletive deleted) bugs. Since they seem to eat everything . . . okay, taste everything . . . it will act as a residual poison for 3 or 4 days. One of our south windows was so covered you couldn't see out of it. I sprayed some Raid and in half an hour vacuumed up 3-4 thousand beetles. The best part was they kept dying.
