Hi Sarah,

Rocky Broad reminds me of a stretch of the Falling River close to our farm. There is a great swimming hole there. You can sit on a rock ledge and let the water pour down over your neck and shoulders. Nice massage therapy....

haven't been east much so this is new to me. real pretty up there in n.c. :) never ceases to amaze me what you can see where - i always liked taking pictures out west cuz there would always be mountains in the background - these remind me of the salmon river up by coos bay, or. or maybe the road south to sedona, az. course when you get black ice on the roads, it's kinda reassuring to know they're fairly flat here :)
i pulled such a neat stunt on my son (from ca - on leave from boot camp) one winter - there's a gentle lake access that just looks like another bend in the road, so we were going to town but i told him i had to stop at my buddy's for a sec on the way. okay no problem. so we were gabbing away and i pulled up at my buddy's fish-house before he took stock of his surroundings. when i came back he asked if those little buildings are for storing seeds or something! i said no they're for raising fish - he still didn't realize we're driving on a lake. i had to putt over by the bridge where the river keeps the water open, finally he began asking where we were - gawd i laughed! that'll teach him to pull the pin on a practice grenade in our living room! :)
