My niece just came back to PR from a Fencing tournament at Overland Park, KS.
Her mom, dad and sister went with her.
The girls had so much fun they just can't stop telling me about everything they did, the nice places they went and the people they met from around the world.

They had the greatest time at an apple farm of one of the Kansas athlete's family.
They couldn't believe they were actually eating 'fresh' apples right from the tree, of course!!
I guess you know we can't grow them here in PR...

The girl did real good.
She started taking fencing clasess only 8 months ago. Made 34th place, out of 64 competitors in the Youth-14 Women's Foil division.

Louisville,KY is scheduled for next month.

That's really great for only doing the sport for 8 month's. She must just be a natural! Louisville is about 3 hours from me. Not real close! My dh was stationed at Roosevelt Roads in the 80's and he loved it down there in PR. We also spent close to 5 years in Guam just so he could get his "tropical" fix again. We have apple trees now, but no mango trees anymore.

Hey Annie

Roosevelt Roads is about to become a thing of the past. It's going to be closed, that's a shame,IMO.
I lived for three years in San Antonio, TX when my, then husband, was sent to Panama and there we lived for three more years.

Where in KY do you guys live?

Kansas City International Airport is an hour's drive from us in another direction. We're in the boonies here, the closest Wal Mart is twenty-five minutes away!

Are those close to you?
Twenty-five minutes is not too far..right?

We are planning a Motor Home trip around the states for next year, there is so much I want to see, and some ppl I would love to meet in person.
I love to cook, maybe you could come over to the camping site and visit.:-)

High dollar folks there? I read somewhere something about being ranked the second city with the most bright ppl..er..or something..but then again maybe I got the terms mixed..hehe

Take Care Steve

You are right on the high-dollar folks; but they are actually deprived, because when you drive past their homes you don't see even ONE decent tractor, unless you count lawn mowers.
