Well the sweet oil didn't work after all. I thought he was getting better but Friday it seemed to be getting worse. So I took Jack to the vet Saturday morning.

He has a yeast desease in his ear. Got some ointment from the vet and now he is on the mend.

I didn't know dogs got yeast infections, particularly male dogs.

Poor day when you don't learn something.

I've got a German Shepherd that has gotten the same thing before. Vet said GS's can be prone to it. The vet said she'll probably get it occassionally, so I just bought extra medicine while I was there to take care of it quick. Last week she had big whelps on her belly and started scabing and oozing from sores. Took her in and doc fixed her right up, all cleared in 2 days. Lesson learned...if dog has irritated skin and smells don't just give it more baths...was probably a people shampoo I was using and more I bathed her for the smell the worse she got. I've always used Suave shampoo on my dogs, guess she's just going to be a high maintenance girl!

Yes poor thing I have 2 labs and a jack russell puppy. The labs had it already. It drives them crazy. My labs ears were all red ,hot. The first vet gave me what she called her own mix.all I had to do was show it to the dog shed run. It seemed it was mostly rubbing alcohol???Finally I asked what in the world was in that, she gave me a tube of something else.
