.....originally come to this "Country Living" message forum?

My pal Clod took me here the first time. Clod has taken me on cyber trips around the virtual world. This, in my estimation, is the best we visited.

I specially like the intelligent, helpful, humorous posts by all the unique folks who post here. I also like the fact that we can disagree without cursing or being hateful and mean. I learn new stuff here on a regular basis.

I see new folks post, and I just wondered how all of the regulars and irregulars and newbies got here in the first place. ;-)

Although I'm not here everyday, am still considered a "newbie", and haven't posted a whole lot, I truely enjoy this board. Really down to earth people with everyday problems and actual important questions. No sniping, rudeness, off-color junk, etc....Just a bunch of wonderful people. I try to help out with questions and enjoy the general tone of this board and I think I'll stay for quite a while. As for how I got here, I was looking for this type of board, country doings, nice people and a place where I felt "comfortable".

Probably from search engine,
Was looking for answers to country living, flowers, after we had moved to our farmette,
and the kids were in high school, and I had time
to surf the net about 2-3 yrs. ago!

I just stumbled blindly on the Kountry Living site, when searching for woodworking sites. I mostly observe, but occasionally can't help but put in my two cents worth. I really enjoy reading what you folks have to say. You are my kind of people, even tho some of you are yankees:}LOL

Typed in Allis Chalmers and ended up at YT and started wandering around. I kinda liked the little bit of foolishness that went on for awhile then it kinda faded away seem it upset some but the most intresting time was last spring when we had a lot of post about the gathering of maple syrup and through the discussion it led to someone sending me some real Maple syrup. Thanks again Randy, Log cabin just don't cut it any more after the real thing. Among the ones I miss the most are EIEIO and Otter pilot among others.

I wandered over here from the Ford N page about the time Common Ground gave up the ghost. I learned a lot, "met" some good folks and read some good stories.

I was surfing for info on country stuff and stumbled through the door. It's been a little over 2 years now. It's a great board, even if it does get a little hairy at times.

I did a seach for seed tubes for an old superior
grain drill and ended up here . Been hanging around ever since . Just read mostly . I came about the time Mark was building his barn and EIEIO was posting . Any body ever hear from her ? She left and never came back .

cowgirlj    Posted 11-06-2003 at 19:41:45       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I talk to her a lot. She left for her own reasons. If you'd like to have her contact you, email me.

hi all, I am a newbie, first time posting, usually just read. I found this board by plugging in "Country living" into Yahoo, Voila! very much enjoy this site!

Like alot of people, I was on ytmag and found it.
Glad I did.

I came here from the N board on ytmag. I enjoy the diversity here. I always enjoyed the ot on the N board, but a lot of people sorta frowned on it. You can only read "why won't my tractor start?" so many times.

Brian-2N    Posted 11-06-2003 at 18:17:32       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I hear you. We used to get a lot of OT on the N board, then there was the flap regarding Don B., Tyman, and all the archived posts disappearing. About a week after that someone posted something OT but unrelated to the other episode, and everyone wanted to crucify him. Occasionally I see something OT but not often. Guess that's another reason why I came here.

I had an old JD and used to post on the tractor board, one day found this one as I was wandering around on it. Not a country boy, and I am doing a lot of rural things now that I knew nothing about
Sure have found a lot of knowledgeable people from all over on here, don't always agree with them, but at least you don't get fired at.

~Lenore    Posted 11-06-2003 at 16:45:37       [Reply]  [No Email]
I dont know about that; think you fired at me a time or two, REt.
Glad you are not a sharpshooter or I just duck fast. ;-)
I keep my bullet proof vest on just in case.

Been coming here a mighty long time though I frequently don't post, just read, but I came by way of Poultry Information Exchange (someone there mentioned this site). But Les is right, I've seen forums change over time. Hopefully this one will be able to adjust.

Well, I was looking for kindred spirits, so I went to, a nice big search engine, and started putting this and that in. I had never been on a message board, not really anyway, because everybody was always so fake. WHen I foudn this one, I hung around, and for about 6 months I just read posts, and then one day, I just decided to step in and make friends, because I had decided this place was a good place to be, and I was right. :)

Brian-2N    Posted 11-06-2003 at 14:19:24       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I got here through YTMAG. I was looking for Ford N series sites (hence my handle), and found this one to be the best. On a slow day at the N Board, I came here to listen. I noticed familiar names like Salmoneye and Willy N, then started to join in the discussion. I come and go, depending on my workday. Lately the Sicherheits Polizei at corporate is cracking down on internet use, so I may be scarse for a while.

OW recommended it. And I thank him everytime I get on here.

I stumbled in from yesterdays tractors, got bored with tractor tales one day and decided to see what else was out there. I found a lot of the same people here, but actually being nice to each other, and for the most part, discussing things which I understand.

Donna from Mo    Posted 11-06-2003 at 13:39:49       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I'm sure I must have come here by way of Yesterday's Tractors, which is the main website my husband frequents (I found it for him, he's not very computer-savvy). I've followed some of these people to other boards, where I've met lots of delightful folks. The way I relax after a day's hard work is to check out my message boards.

SusanMo    Posted 11-06-2003 at 13:10:00       [Reply]  [No Email]
i was just looking for sites pertaining to country/rural living so i clicked on it and started reading actually started with the recipe section first, then the photo gallery. so then i got brave and said hello i can truly say i have never found a better site.

~Lenore    Posted 11-06-2003 at 13:37:27       [Reply]  [No Email]
Me, too, best site I've found!
I went to the recipe section first.
I then read this board and sort of hung around.

with my old piggybacked 386 i originally found the jesse ventura board then it went defunct, then msnbc closed their good old boards and got all full of themselves so we started up our own version, now that's full of popups & pretty quiet so i come here every day or so. nice place - peaceful and interesting :) (it'll change - web surfers are nothing if not wanderers - and wait til we get all 2000 languages going - you think we're flexible now? :)

~Lenore    Posted 11-06-2003 at 13:23:05       [Reply]  [No Email]
Wanderers... yes I have noticed that;
I think Clod has a lot of wanderer in him!
My message board experience began on a little community board here in Liberty, Tx.
I read my first thread about gun ownership pros and cons. I could not resist, I took the name Free Woman and jumped in head first.
Then some vulgar, filthy mouth posters got in and ruined the whole thing. The board had no filter on it and it eventually was destroyed.
I met Clod on it and then he explored the internet and drug me along with him.
We went to Russia, Belgium and Scotland, lots of politics on those and it was interesting.
This one just feels good like a comfy pair of shoes. I guess I am not as adventurous.

I've used the antique tractor forums for years, for my tractors, and I occaisionally checked out this forum. Recently, I've been on it more and more.
