I'm new to chickens this year. In April I started with 6 baby chicks. They have been a great source of fun. Very healty and productive.

Yesterday I had a 5 egg day. Today I have a sick girl. Her comb is very dark, between purple and redish-black. Her feet went from yellow to chalky white. Found her in the hen house when I returned home from work. She seemed weak and unsteady on her feet. She did sleep on the roost last night and is up this morning but not eating well.

Any ideas? At this time all others appear to be healthy.

One of my chickens is not eating and stays in her house most of the day. Today I took her out of her house and clear yellow fluid came out of her mouth as I lifted her out.
What should I do...?

Check the archives on this site. Also make sure she is at least drinking water, put her beak in some water and make sure she can swollow. Check for any wounds, sounds like there might be blood loss if her feet turned pale, but this is just my guess. Good luck and keep us posted.
