I wouldn't live in New York city...

if they gave me the whole dang town. Talk about a bummer, it's the biggest one around... Those are the opening words to a song from back in the 70's written and sung by Buck Owens. It's a classic "I hate NYC" song.

You fixin to get out of Dodge, Cowboy Joe? I hear a lot of people thinking about moving out of NYC (myself included) since the attack. It seems like a pretty good excuse to do what I've intended to do for years.

I just came across this board and I figured I just had to put my two cents worth in...

I don't live in NYC but it is absolutely one of my favorite cities on this earth. The only thing that keeps me from wanting to live there is not the crowds, the noise or the fact that it's a major target. It's the weather. I can't stand cold weather.

I currently live in San Francisco, which is a lot like New York, but without the blizzards. I do get to NYC whenever I have the chance, however.

It really saddened me to see what happened, but the way New Yorkers responded and the way everyone from the Mayor down to the police and fire departments handled the situation has made me pleased and proud. More than anything else, NY's biggest asset are the strenght and spirit of her people. I only wish we had that same spirit out here in laid back California.

Greetings. What part of the City are you from?

Hello Joe. We live on Greenwich Street, Just below Canal. Where are you?

Wow! You're mighty close to the WTC. How are things from your perspective? I live near Columbia Univ. You appear to be new to this board. WELCOME. Are you a NYC native?

Thanks for the welcome CJ. I'm not a NYC Native, but I've been here for 25 years. I grew up in rural NJ (Yes, there is - or was - such a place), and lived for many years in Tennessee and Upstate NY. I still have a place Upstate, where I keep my tractor. I've been hanging out on the Ford tractor board for a year or so, but never looked at this board til now. I wanted to hear more about what other people in the country were saying about the attack. How come you to be here?

Thanks for the info. Where in rural NJ? I grew up in suburban NJ. I found this board sort of by accident. By profession I am a psychotherapist; by advocation - a radio cowboy. You can check out my web site posted below. However the pics of me are outdated by 20 years. Keep in touch.

Jeez Joe, I didn't know you was famous. I was wondering why a guy hanging around Manhattan would call himself 'cowboy joe'. I'll have to check out your show.

There ain't no reason for that many people to live all stacked up on top of one another. Plenty of open land still left here in America. Fly over the Grand Canyon, West Texas or New Mexico if you don't believe me. Heck go to Las Vegas and see the city they built in the middle of the desert.

I've been to all the places you described.

If it's alright with you, Johnny, they can stay right where they are. I can see my neighbor's but I can't hear 'em argue, and that's fine by me.
