Winds hitting 60 to 70 MPH since about 10 last nite. All schools closed. Some shingles gone off the barn roof. Fire radio say a tree is down on the wires about 1/2 mile from here. I better get the generator ready.

I have a tree down. I was going to get the chain saw but noticed that the reason it was not on the ground is that the tree is caught up in the electrical wires. Have a bit of damage to the siding.

Please don't send the snow this way. Taking the day off from doing leaf cleanups as it's too dangerous out there with the winds. Good day to work in the shop and go pick up the old gas stove the little lady bought off Ebay.

Hi Dave, I think you live fairly close to me. Yeah, the winds were/are incredible. Hope shingles are the only thing you lose! I had to leave for work while still dark, so I don't know how my barn and house roof held up. Is it snowing hard yet?

Hi Dave. I'm just a couple hills over in Holland. It's snowing pretty good in the city right now, how's things down there? Not looking forward to the drive home.

If you are in Buffalo, you have a nasty ride home. It's not blowing as hard now as earlier but still a lot of times of white out.
Drive slow and be safe.

Also lost some vinal siding off barn. Whole area is without power. Im on generated power. Some roads closed due to power lines down and blocked by trees. I had to go to valley and get AAA batteries for thermostat. (Head Honch gave my spares to the kids) They would pick now to STB. Snowing heavy on the horizontal. If it keeps up the roads will be closed by this evening.

So far no damage known down this way, but lots of snow and wind. Channel 4 said the worse is yet to come!

it was blowing soooo hard    Posted 11-13-2003 at 04:36:00       [Reply]  [No Email]
this morning when I was taking care of the critters, that the water was blowing sideways from the water spigot and not going at all into the bucket just 6" below it!
