Howdy-I'm a seldom contributer here, but appreciated the interest last winter with some log cabin questions .We got one nearly done this summer and I would like to post a home page of my niece with photos. We cut the trees, peeled em and made the lumber out of a small mill.Thanks-Chuck and Sparky the Log Dog

I remember your e-mails last winter, Tirebiter. Congratulations. Glad to hear you made the break and did it. I'm excited for you and yours.

Bring the link on! We tried a log cabin years ago. 20 by 20 roughly, peeled green popple, refused to use a level or square or book first. (wanted it natural & authentic :)It's still up.

Looks darn nice so far, TireBiter! You did the smart thing by flatting those logs - it saves many chainsaw passes getting them to sorta settle!
here's a picture of ours ------ if i can do it right :)

Beautiful!!! Just received a posting to Lehman's forum from a Montana resident wanting to know how to make the break from city to country life. You should check that out - maybe give a little advice/recommendation. Now you're a real country folk.

Was this your own place in the pictures or were you helping someone else (seems you mentioned something about that last winter)?
