Shoe insoles.......

Hi everyone. Does anyone out there know how to make a durable, breathable shoe insole? It seems that everytime we turn around we are buying those insoles for our shoes because the original ones have worn out. The store bought ones wear out so fast. My husband made some out of a thin piece of carpeting but his feet would sweat too much with them. Any suggestions? HELP........

Why can't one of the shoe/sneaker manufactures make a shoe that pumps air to your hot feet as you walk? Right now they wouldn't sell very well BUT in summer time that would be another story. It would probably eliminate a lot of foot odor and would be GREAT for teenagers.....if you know what I mean.

alot depends on your weather rhonda - up here in mn we use 1/4-inch felt booties inside our footwear this time of year - no problem. of course they get left in the porch pretty often so they stay dry. the rule here is "never sweat" in winter - better to be a bit chilly than to get frostbite. :)
