VIGO Bread Crumbs Receipt
[Return to Topics]

Please, someone help me with a receipt from the VIGO bread crumbs can. It is for their broccoli casserole. When I lived in Florida, I could buy them at the Publix supermarkets, here in Tn. I can't find that brand. I even wrote the company but no reply from them. I know how to make it, just don't remember all the ingredients. This is my daughter's and my first Thanksgiving in three years, so I want it to be special, as she loves it. Thank you.

I looked in my favorite cookbook,
"Best Recipes from the backs/sides of boxes, cans, bottles, jars, etc."
I did not find the recipe there.
I surely thought it might be, sorry.

Well, this is years later from the original post, but I was in the exact same situation having recently moved from Florida to Indiana. I couldn't find the breadcrumbs anywhere. I went online for broccoli casserole recipes in gerneral and I came across the recipe! Only difference is they use crumbled Ritz crackers instead of the breadcrumbs. I could remember all the other ingredients, just not the measurements. The ingredients looks the same to me. If anyone else out there has been searching for the recipe and can't find it go to this website

I tried my cook books too, then the different web sites and the here. VIGO's web site didn't have it and they never answered my request for the receipe.

Hi Juliana,
I don't have the recipe in front of me but I have seen it at the market and used those bread crumbs in the past. I am going in to town Monday and will get a can. Perhaps someone has it on their shelf.

Anita, that would be great if you could copy it down. I know I need the can of soup, 2 cups of cheese, two packs of the broccoli. There are eggs and mayonnaise and bread crumbs but I don't know how much or if this is all. I did try that web site for VIGO and a lot of others, but could not come up with THAT receipe (sorry I spelled it wrong). That's the one we do like. I look forward to your Monday visit. :-)

Hi Juliana,
I had to go into Pueblo to rescue my neighbors who lost their truck keys. I ran into Safeway to check on the crumbs - ugh! They didn't have them. I will look at Walmart and King Super's on Monday - but it was Safeway I was getting them. Wouldn't you know they wouldn't have them right at Thanksgiving ;-( Hopefully there is someone out there. It is 6F this AM burrr! We still haven't had to have any heat inside. A nice 67F in here this AM ;-)

It's funny how the same stores in parts of the country carry different items. Here, I can't get scrapple either. When I asked the meat guy, he had never heard of it but they have it in Florida.
