Wife cuts husband's hair

Betty is feeling a lot better the last few days. She gave me a hair cut this evening. She has been doing this for a few years now. Hair cuts at the barber cost about $6 around here, so I bought an electric clipper at walmart for $20 and Betty has been cutting it. She does a pretty good job.

I wonder how many of you have your wife cut your hair?

Charles

Heavens no!
My ex's hair had to be "perfect". He had black hair cut in a perfect flat top with the sides perfectly "Butch" waxed back ending in a perfect "DA" center back.
Sort of a Fonzie type style but better.
He spent more time on his hair than I did on mine.

Hey Lenore, now I have a scenerio in my mind of Fonzie being swept off his feet by Lovely Luscious Lenore the lady DJ! "I remember when rock was young; Fonzie and Lenore had so much fun; holding hands and skipping stones; etc.etc." {Sorry, I'm feeling a little silly this morning, must have breathed too much diesel smoke this past week!}

Haha, not too far from the truth sounds like the opening line if I write my memoirs.

Sounds a little like Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl".

I still listen to those oldies on my radio. We have a great oldies station out of Houston.
There were some good happy songs back then and some great guitars, etc. Guess I am getting old, the new "music" does not seem to need talented musicians at all. The only actual music I hear now is in Country music.

Newgen    Posted 11-23-2003 at 15:09:28       [Reply]  [No Email]
Actually it's Crocodile Rock by Elton John. I like all the old songs too. To me the newer country is more like what we used to call rock n' roll. I like the old country songs too. Too bad ther earen't many new artists coming up to replace the old standbys we're losing isn't it?

~Lenore    Posted 11-23-2003 at 21:45:07       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yes, Crocodile Rock!!
that ran through my mind too.
I had football on my mind.

I was watching the pregame prognosticators to see what they were predicting for my favorite teams.
I was getting ready for the Texans' game.
They did not lose they just ran out of time.

I agree lots of the new country like Travis Tritt and Joe Diffie, etc.
sound a whole lot like those classic rock songs and instrumentals.

Ian won't let me touch his. I have tried to get him to let me, but he says nope. BTW, he keeps his long, so I would only have to trim the dead ends! I do cut my own hair. I have cut others. My husbands aunt is a hairdresser, she says I am a closet hairdresser! LOL I also color and frost my sisters and her kids hair.

I have been doing it myself. When necessary, the wife helps with the back.

deadcarp    Posted 11-23-2003 at 08:25:32       [Reply]  [No Email]
same here - she used to do it all but now just the back part. you young fellas hear this: your wife will more readily cut your hair if it means she can spend the saved money getting hers styled -well hey, it's a partnership right? why not both win? :)

Swamphandy    Posted 11-23-2003 at 05:56:03       [Reply]  [No Email]
If she doesn't do it, I do it myself.

I have had a couple of hack jobs from her, but she is catching on. We've been married 5 years now, most of which I cut it myself.

My mom cut my hair as a kid, only ever been to a barber a handful of times. Seems a waste of money when I can do it myself.

Wife is gonna cut mine today. Haircut around here is $12.00, and I ain't got $12.00 worth of hair. She does a good job, and I wear a cap most of the time anyway.

mrs. hay used to cut mine, but we had to use the bowl for something else. now i just hack at my hair with the electric clippers and stay away from town for a few weeks.

Not me, but then nobody cuts mine. Last time was 20 years ago or so. She did cut her brothers the other day though.

My mom, to save money, always cut Daddy's hair, and he would look funny for a long time afterward. In fact, his awful haircuts embarrassed me as a kid; but he didn't seem to realize he looked peculiar after a haircut.

she has been cutting mine for 8 years. Got tired of the gossip at the barber shop besides 6-8 dollars for 6 times a year is about=336!

Wife cuts son's and my hair. Mostly how we met - she did it for a living and maybe leaned on me a little too much or maybe just enough ;-)

I've asked her a few times, but she always declines. I put the 1/4 inch guard on the dog clippers and have at it myself. Drastic change, I used to keep it shoulder length. Haircut here is $9-$12.

Wife used ta cut mine...but she chickened out, said she couldn't do a good enough job...told her it didn't matter as long as she got rid of the hair, only two weeks 'tween a good and bad one, anyway, now it costs ten bucks plus five fer a tip....yeah I know, too much, but the barber is an ole Bud of mine.....have a gooder, R.E.L.

your tellin on your age Okie, the cheapest hair cut I can remember was when Caseys' at Cushing was two dollars for kids and three for men.

Haven't been to a barber in 20 years . Wife has always cut it . She cuts it with a straight razor and sizzors, no clippers . I sit real still .

my wife cuts my hair all the time.
8.50 for a haircut for a bald guy is just a waste.
she had to learn how. first couple of times things did'nt look so good!!!
oh well, i ain't to worried. i feel any man that is worried about how his hair looks is wastin' time on his hair, time that could be spent on building fence or some other worthwhile project.hehehehehehehe

Stony Jim    Posted 11-22-2003 at 17:36:44       [Reply]  [No Email]
$6.00 huh? think I'll have to go to MO. Don't have a wife and $10 to $15 here at MD- PA for a butcher job!

Les    Posted 11-22-2003 at 17:25:57       [Reply]  [No Email]
I wish I dared to let my wife cut my hair. My daughter, maybe. My wife? Nope. I have cut hers, though.
$6 for a haircut ain't bad. Around here, $10 is the going rate.

tried it.....once!

Pitch    Posted 11-23-2003 at 04:00:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
I am to cheap to pay someone to cut my hair so the missus does it. She is not real good at it but if you're not sleeping with me or payin my mortgage I don't really give a hoot what you think. (Did you realize that some faiths consider it to be an affront to the creator if you ut your hair)

ron,Ar    Posted 11-23-2003 at 06:39:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
yep, I think there was a "discussion" of sorts about that not long ago here.
