I posted a , what I thought to be entertaining, and I'll admit long, bit of trivial comparrisons between what was considered science in the past and the bible. I actualy thought that someone might find it interesting, as most people haven't heard these things, instead I got nailed, or felt like I did. I want everyone to understand that I was not trying to start a fight or even a discussion. Looks like its ok to be country as long as you only talk about subjects that are pre- approved, alright, tell me who approves what is ok and I will pass all my posts by you first.

I don't see anything to be sorry for and I surely didn't find anything wrong with the post to offend anyone. I enjoyed it and saved it.

Thanks
Kraig

Don't apologize, not unless yer ashamed of what ya posted, and I wouldn't be.
As for the length, well mebbe it was a bit long, however I managed to read it all without any pain to my body or brain.
Now then as to the content, I don't have any problem with that, and if I did, well I have this really modern 'puter with one little 'ole key that takes me back, and poof it's gone.
As to whether or not it's country, well thats open for interpretation, but as for me, if I'd hear it 'round here during the week, I guess we would call it country.
Between Church, the feed mill, the post office, or the store, subjects like this are bound to come up. When they do, we discuss them.
I've come to the conclusion the reason that Athiests are always so P.O.'d is that they don't get no holidays!!!
Later
Ron

Nailed? Come on now. You posted something guaranteed to be controversial. Religion and politics are always going to be hot topics. I don't get the "thought police" thing that people are talking about. Just because somebody doesn't see it your way, they are the thought police?
1.) Nobody has removed the post
2.) Nobody has implied that you shouldn't post again
3.) Only one person really came out as totally disagreeing with the ideas.
4.) Nobody said they were offended.
What did you expect, cheers and applause?
Paul.

Hogman    Posted 11-24-2003 at 09:34:51       [Reply]  [No Email]
Corey I enjoyed reading it and sent it on to My Pastor who also enjoyed reading it.
I too have just "sorta" returned having left due to thought Police actions which I felt were not only adolescent but cruel.Again, thank You for a both informative and provocative post.

Hogman whom is very opinionated and possessed of a most violent nature but endeavors to respect the opinions of others who are equally civil.

KellyGa    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:14:58       [Reply]  [No Email]
I thought it was an interesting analagy. I read most of it. Corey, don't even worry about it. Like they told my Mama when I introduced her to here, sometimes it gets ta flyin round here, and then it all settles back down, no biggie.

D.J.-East Texas    Posted 11-24-2003 at 07:33:13       [Reply]  [No Email]
You hit the nail on the head Corey. The board gestapo will always come down on those who do not post what they consider ok.I used to post here regular and now lurk sometimes and have seen every imaginable post.I would not worry about it,as far as i can tell Kim still has the final say on what is OK and what isn't.Since it has been awhile i would like to say hello to all those i have missed reading there post's.Also hope Mr.Dead Carp is doing better(the man is a genius)...........later

you can't please them all corey - surprising how seriously some people take everything - it doesn't seem to help though - the grouches end up in pine boxes with empty pockets just like the happy ones - and likewise way sooner than they'd hoped. except that they had lots less fun :)

hahaha    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:06:26       [Reply]  [No Email]
that pine box part is funny and so true.

No offense taken here, you might check with Ludwig, I'm sure he has the short list.

~Lenore    Posted 11-24-2003 at 07:56:53       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yes "people like me" are on Ludwig's short list.
I am not sure why... I still think he owes me an apology, I am not holding my breath though.

It is OK Corey, if they dont want to read a post they can pass over it.

Someone was upset by my football threads, called it drivel.
I guess football is not a "country" subject.
I know a few country boys who were real good football players!
So I always post "DRIVEL" in the title, so the easily offended dont read it.
I think they still read them; curiosity is hard to resist.

Pitch    Posted 11-24-2003 at 10:55:07       [Reply]  [No Email]
Lenore, I'm sure that you remember that I am the one that referred to football as "Drivel" and I do appreciate you labeling your posts as such on that subject. How ever I never said that they don't belong on a country board. All I said was that their are a myraid of other places where people can go get thir sports fix. I read the post with the bible references and I found it not at all offensive but I did think that it was kind of like bumper sticker politics. I was born and raised country, not just country but hick/woodchuck but that does not make me intolerant of other peoples thoughts and opinions as many on this board seem to be. I was also raised seriously Christian and Jesus and myself still consider me to be one but there is probably not one so called "BORN AGAIN" (another bumpersticker phrase that means absolutely nothing standing on its own) that would consider me to be such.I am also about 70% to the left of most posters here and some of the things that I read are just about the most closeminded redneck opinions that I have ever seen. When Jesus said "Render unto to Ceaser that this is Ceasers and render unto the Lord that what is the Lords he wasn't just talking Taxes and Tithes. I would hope to see a bit more tolerance of other folks opinions 'cause it's only November and we have a long winter ahead of us.

~Lenore    Posted 11-24-2003 at 16:30:29       [Reply]  [No Email]
Sorry about that, I did not remember who it was. I guess it sort of surprised me and I did not make a note of your name.

" All I said was that their are a myraid of other places where people can go get thir sports fix".

I sort of took that as a suggestion not to get my "fix" here. I still like the folks here and when I wanted to share my excitement about the Texans here, I just decided to identify the thread for you and now Salmoneye, too. I did not want to take it else where. I am sure you understand that. There are a handful of football fans here.

I really do not object to any subjects posted here. I believe as long as people use unoffensive language it should be ok. I read almost all the threads, at least the first one. I have learned a lot here. Some are so far out of my interest I only read the first. I think it is great that others are insterested and respond.

Well spoken!
ron-who is as far to the right as you can get.

Thank you...    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:26:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
I personally appreciate the fact that you go to the trouble of putting 'Drivel' in the title...

I just don't care for organized sports, so it saves me time...

Thanks again!

Salmoneye

GusandEdie    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:43:35       [Reply]  [No Email]
You don't care for much that is "organized"...

Now now...    Posted 11-24-2003 at 09:04:34       [Reply]  [No Email]
If I was a bit more sensitive, I might get my feelings hurt...

Nah...

GusandEdie    Posted 11-24-2003 at 12:20:26       [Reply]  [No Email]
It was not meant to see if you were thick skinned, cause I could care less if you were or not. Just an observation.

Whatever...    Posted 11-24-2003 at 13:22:15       [Reply]  [No Email]
It seems you care enough to observe and comment...

Have nice evening Brad...

;-)

Salmoneye,

Sorry you have taken this so hard, Maybe I should not have been so short with my replies. Then you would not have felt like you needed to look me up on the net and post my name which is wrong. I would gladly tell you if you asked. Thank you for the well wishes of a fine evening. It was great after I finished an evening hunt. 2 greenheads, 3 widgeons and it was fun watching my dogs Gus and Edie fetchem up. Did you get a couple more this morning?

So hard?    Posted 11-25-2003 at 09:36:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
Too funny...I live for a good P'ing match...After the last couple months I have had I am just happy as a pig in slop to be here and able to whine, gripe, and P & Moan...Sorry about the 'brad' thing Rory ;-)

I only went out yesterday morning because I was lazy the night before and left my dekes out overnite...

I prefer last light...Always have...Headed out in an hour or so...I don't even care if I shoot anymore...Just glad to be in a swamp...Birds are just a bonus...

what about?    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:41:14       [Reply]  [No Email]
un-organized sports? :^) There are times when I cannot tell the difference. BTW- our band booster shirts all say "without the band it would just be a game".

I like...    Posted 11-24-2003 at 09:03:16       [Reply]  [No Email]
Things like ping-pong...Hi degrees of skill but without all the hooplah...

Oh yeah...And 'individual' sports...Hunting, hiking, fishing, Snowboarding...You know...The Big 4 ;-)

Grove r    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:23:16       [Reply]  [No Email]
my sentiments, too, Lenore....you post whatever you like....personaly, I don't care for football, but that doesn't mean I'm going to come down on you for posting about it.....if I am not interested in a post, I just pass over it, don't have ta make a big thing out of it becuase, "It's too lengthy", or , "I don't like the content", or, a mirriad of other contentions ....I read most of Coreys post, and I know where he is comming from.....also read a couple of the "replys", boy......but I don't condem any for their posts....I just pass on by ....isn't that what "freedom of choice is all about'???? Done ranting.....now you can by pass by this post, if you like......but, do have a gooder, R.E.L.

D.J.-East Texas    Posted 11-24-2003 at 08:09:07       [Reply]  [No Email]
