Just got back from my sister and her husbands house. She cooked her first Thanksgiving dinner for both sides of the family. It was really nice. I am stuffed to the gills, gonna go sit around and fall asleep most likely. Hopefully someone will have the decency to wipe the drool from the side of my face, as I enjoy this Thanksgiving of not cooking and fall asleep with no dishes to do. I already asked her if she would be doing it again next year, she said she didn't know, that she was kinda tired, I said Yep, now ya know what its really like to cook a holiday meal for everyone, and I praise and applaud you, especially since I didn't have to do it this year! :)

This was my first Thanksgiving in a new home with a brand new family, and it was wonderful. I ate so much good food I can barely move now lol

Had a good laugh at my sister-in-laws house. She was skimming off a pan that she was boiling potatoes in and putting it in a bowl. (Potato foam?) Well it turned out to be a little to close to the punch bowl for the kids... Poor little guy my side still hurts.

Since we're both past our sprinting days, we try to sorta spread things out so we can cover them better - like this week we got mixed nuts and next week hard candy - we'll set aside a little of each for christmas week. then yesterday i got to watch my grandson struggle thru the playground at burger king and interact with other kids. that was such a treat and to see the look on buck's face when he came round the corner on the slide :) our other son was being an a-hole so they needed time out anyway so his ma & him spent the nite and we took them home so angie could help fix turkey. then we selected our choice of the best tv dinners we could find and had 2 apiece over the day. tomorrow the stores are starting their annual holiday hype sales early but we'll probly shop right after christmas like we did last year. meantime for december we'll read a few books, watch a few video tapes, gather some wood & get the fish-house out there til the commercials die down. oh i guess we got a $40 fuzzy rocking horse since but nuthin fancy - pretty nice thanksgiving all told :)

Thanks, it was great! I don't have much close family around here any more but I do have good friends. Had a good time.

The boys and their families are gone now and all that's left is my wife and our 12 year old grandaughter. She will stay for the weekend. We've had a great day. But, it started early and I'm justifiably tired. I'm going to rest for awhile and them help clean up the dishes, pots and pans. Good tiding to all and God Bless George W. Bush

I did and I am thankful.

Our president gave the troops in Iraq a surprise, too.
I know the opposition will call it a "political ploy"
just like they did when he flew on board that carrier to greet the troops.
They dont understand a man who really cares.
The story below is good.
