Thanks for the kind words down below about being a good ex husband. We were together for 16 years or so. I make money, she doesn't. She has always worried about a roof over her head and the animals. Now she doesn't have to. I always told her that I would take care of her if anything happened to us. Was able to find her a little house on 4 acres in NY. Send her all the money I can, some months are better than others.
Also important is my new wife and her understanding. She also understands that if anything ever happened to us she would get all the help she needed also. We always joke that the 2 of them will end up living together and talking about how nice it is that I'm working my butt of to take care of them while they lounge around.
The short story is that I keep my word. Glad to do it.

Man, you sure got a more amiable divorce than I did. I wouldn't send my ex anything if her life depended on it. I won't even talk to her, and it has been 32 years
