northerntools sells a Northstar brand made by Murray - think they label their Performance brand for Northerntools.com.(Murrray, Murray Performance, YardKing and Blizzard brands) - looks pretty nice - 8.5hp Tecumseh 27" headlight, elect start - 2 phase.

Looking at This one from Northerntool
http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=6970&langId=-1&catalogId=4006970&PHOTOS=on&TEST=Y&productId=1029528&categoryId=224765
Roughly equivalent to THIS ONE by Murray:
http://store.murray.com/mc/product.asp?mscssid=RJK0SX25GDR89LSX4MA8BKG51B7W5GCA&pfid=627808X5A&CYear=True

Need any experiences please with Murray product?

pls email eyeam@ragingbull.com

I have a North Star 24" 5HP with a broken spring on the drive cable. Where can I get a replacement spring or whole cable?

Loo at the site I linked below -

"Murray Service Center Locator"

key in your zipcode and find a service center near you.

Else contact Murray directly - www.murray.com - go to their service and support - and see if you can get one from them. They are in canada so delivery may take a while.

There is probably something else you could use but I haven't tried anything. Maybe a couple calls to murray service centers or even other local smowblower dealers will help there too.

Hope you find help!!

Good luck

My exhusband took the key that is to start our 24" 5 hp murray snowblower. Now with all the snow I really could use the snowblower to help with all the snow removal. Do you know where I could find a key?
