i know i'm late but hey! :) i'm getting better at using my left hand now - i can maintain a grip long enough to lug a small tire or chunk of firewood or bag of trash past the house with it - can slap hard enough to slide a stubborn wheel off its spindle. can steer the van but but i lack the coordination to demount a tire with a tire iron in each hand yet (maybe a table would help) but she's getting there. i can hammer smaller nails pretty well without destroying them. i can handle silverware with either hand - slowly. gotta be careful with my shoulder yet - it's still kinda flimsy. they said don't jerk stuff, you could pull the socket so i just let her build. i try to walk straight but the walker is the best tool for that. look forward to typing and can run the capitals again. and my eyes are getting better. it's sure surprising how many things we take for granted :)

Deadcarp, I was unaware of your trouble. I'm glad you are improving. You are right that most of us who are in good health take it for granted. I thank The Good Lord every day for mine. Get well! Cosmo

you heard about the poor spastic kid? his helper tried to treat him with ice cream but he slung the cone over his shoulder ino the dirt. tried again but this time it sailed over his other shoulder so the helper coached him to concentrate, take his time and this time use both hands. so he got a good hold on it, started lifting, opened his mouth and mashed the thing right into his forehead - see we can tell ones like that! :)

well i had a stroke back in august - few days later when i got to rehab all i could do was wiggle my left thumb about 1/4". those gals brought me from there to walkin, then i set up a few pulleys, ropes & gizmos at home. every morning that side is dumb again but i've found the best thing is just start doing stuff til my blasted sausages get bored and pitch in :)
