I just watched a program on Stigmata on the History channel....I have never seen any examples of this with my own eyes so I really have no interpretation of this subject. My question is...Have any of you ever seen this first hand. Or whats your take on it ? I did a google search and found an explination at a catholic site I tend to lean towards. I have not ever given this much thought but I would like to be enlightened by your thoughts on the subject....

Many thanks

I know the supernatural is real.
I know these things happen.
Some I am sure are fake,
some are not.
I do not know how or why they happen.
I do not believe everything supernatural that happens is good.
Definitely everything supernatural is not of God.
Some is evil and for evil purposes.
That is my opinion on the subject.

I don't buy it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I tend to be a skeptic at heart.

i try to sift thru things i haven't seen or experienced, but so far this falls in the basket with the other bs. for one thing, it's easy to impress uneducated people and most of these seem to be. :)

I'm not sure about this issue. Sometines I think it is real, but as with everything else, there's seems to be an unnatural number of events. But then, the bible said that toward the end of days things like these would increase. Hard to know what to think.

What exactly was your problem with the persons displaying the wounds of Christ? I know of one lady in South America who suffers through the Passion, gaining the appropriate wounds as she progresses through it. There's a lady in Ireland with stigmata who also reads souls. Padre Pio was one of the few men to display the marks of Christ. He passed in 1964. I've heard but not seen a young priest who was visiting in New York 2 years ago who is supposed to have them. I think there is a Greek Orthodox woman in her thirties who has them also. I read a book about it from the public library a couple of years ago. I think one of the points that they made was one male for every 9 females was blessed/afflicted. If Stigmata freaks you out, don't look up the incorruptible saints!

Oh lighten up, Judy! TO was just asking a simple question, said nothing about it "freaking" them out! If that irked you so much, don't answer the question!
