The thread below on unwanted startup pages got me to thinking. I don't get spyware on my machine and I'm on about 4 hours a day between work and home. I also don't run Internet Explorer or MicroScum Instant Messanger.

If you want to get rid of spyware and pop-ups and pop-unders and most of the rest of the junk the sleazy have polluted the web with, go to mozilla.org and download and install the Mozilla web browser. It's free, It's dead simple to install - download it, click on the install file, follow the prompts. Once it's installed, the first time a pop-up tries to pop up a box will appear asking if you want to configure Mozilla. Click 'yes' follow the prompts.
