I recently purchased 8 - 4' X 8' solar panels to heat my green house with. I was wondering what size of water storage tank to use to store heated water in. And the other question is how big of a radiator to use to disipate the heat. Or can somebody recommend a web site or business to find out more information on. I bought these at a yard sale for $7.00 each, pretty good deal.

i usually recommend 300 gallons for house heating minimum, but if those are wet panels (with pipes for water) and work reasonably well, and your winter temp is generally about freezing you could get by with a bit less. i've seen lotsa guys recycling those 250 gal oil tanks for storage. one local fella uses hot water for heating his big plastic greenhouses and all he uses is an old car radiator with a 20-inch house fan blowing thru it. so far as spreading or tapping heat, it all depends on surface area of whatever material you use. for example, a 50-foot coil of 3/4" copper will transfer heat better than any radiator. in fact about twice as well. there are online charts for those kinda propertiess if you're curious. :)

here's a link that shows how copper kicks everything else's butt for conducting heat. generally, if something conducts heat, it will also conduct electricity. pretty easy to remember - when you're talking radiators, look for lousy insulators. :)
