Mr. Toolman's Thoughts

Being a former English teacher I must say that I always taught my students, spelling and grammer were not as important as the thought that they put into writing. Being a lurker on this site I had to post my opinion. Your thoughts would have always gotten an A+. Heck you should have seen my former student Stephen King's spelling I don't think he could have found one word in the dictionary...

"Being a former English teacher I must say that I always taught my students, spelling and grammer were not as important as the thought that they put into writing."

And you are proud of contributing to the 'Dumbing Down Of America'?

Being able to coherently convey your thoughts is as important as the thought itself...

All IMHO of course...Your mileage may vary...

Salmoneye,

Think you must have been my first year college prof. Ask him once how come it took 12 years for me to get a right teacher.
Thought I was finally doing good when I got a B but then I found out that he always gave everybody a B.

Great I will fit right in! I flunked english and didn't do that good in spelling either. I still have fun tho! Mark H.

Small Minded adults need to critize others to make themselves feel whole.

Being a former english student, I would have appreciated that attitude from my former teachers.
I guess from time to time some folks need to grade the papers.
I spend enough time each week, filling out government forms and reports in proper form to make me wanna goof off online.
Teacher I like yer style.

Thank you, Sandblaster, and the rest of you, came on a little late about the "perfectionists", leapin' an' bounding all over Toolman, for his personal use of the English tongue....very inapropriate, to say the least. Quite interesting annecdote about using "spell Check" on a couple other forums.... have noted, when I put down my initials, the "E" is questioned..... so does this mean that even the "spell check" should be monitored??

I, for one, have no trouble in understanding the writings of Toolman.....if, perchance, and, I hope he never does, change his "style" he then is no longer "Toolman"......just as if "Les" quits driving his BMW....then he is no longer "LES"......if "Bob/Ont", started posting lengthy tirades on the merits of crocheting and knitting.....that certainly would not be "Bob"!

A whole "herd" of us 'not so perfect' individuals left this forum, awhile back because of the rantings of a few.....left behind a lot of GOOD people, then suffered even more indignitys by a few more, touting the 'fact' that "they" knew this would happen, because of our 'carryings on'....whatever that means....???? well, that was indeed an unpleasant, and totaly unwarrented event, that shall not repeat itself.........

Now, if the "thought police" care to examine my less than perfect "rant", feel free to do so, you WILL find numerouse grammatical, punctuational, and spelling mistakes....you see, I am not perfect, either......you all have a "gooder", R.E.L.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I was just funning! I had never noticed mr. toolman's style til yesterday. I knew it was intentional and I was not trying to change him or criticize him. I was as impressed with my lack of observation as I was at his style.

I guess I should read and not post; I seem to inadvertantly start trouble here when I do post. Sorry.
