I was just reading another post about mad cow dease on one of the tractor board (YT). Talking about packing house practices, baloney, hot dogs, etc. I say WHO CARES. If it taste good I'm gonna eat it. If I'm cooking a steak, and drop it on the floor, guess what, my dogs don't come a runnin cause they know I'm gonna eat it anyway. I'm gonna smoke too. So what if its bad for me, I like to smoke. While I'm at it, people say the Patriot Act is taking all our freedoms. I have yet to find one thing I can't do now I didn't do before the patriot act. I flew this last year, half way around the world. Terriost nor the government got me. I'm not scared of either. I may die of smoking or eating something that taste good but is bad, but I bet you I ain't gonna die of ulsers cause I'm worring about food, or the government, bad spelling, terriost, or what have you. There, I feel better, now for more coffee and smokes.

I'm with you 100% Kraig. What I do to my body is MY business, no one else's. I enjoy smoking, drinking (on occasion), meat and my wife. Don't answer to no one (cept my wife, of course). I work and play when I want. If I want to run around naked in my yard, I don't ask anyone. I believe in God, America, George W. Bush and my wife. If I abuse my body, that's my business. I don't need anyone telling me what to do.

I'm with you. Adults ought to be able to enjoy the things they choose to. Whether it's good for them or not. As long as it doesn't harm somebody else, who else's business is it anyway?

I agree but the problem comes when people doing what they know will hurt them do it anyway and then expect to blame anyone else they can. If you smoke you should not be able to have tax payer's ,insurance companies ,and tobacco companies pay for your care.If you drink and drive it is your fault not the bars,if you drive off the road and wreck it is not the car companies,if you do things that you know can do you harm then you deserve to get hurt!!

Just heard this on Fox News today. Obeisity kills 300,000 people a year, heck of a lot more than Mad Cow has ever. They now want to call it a disiese and cover it with insurance and allow people to have weight reduction opperations ect coverd by the policys which will raise insurance cost to the rest of us. They better Tax those Candy Bars to cover this problem just like Cigs. Is it any different we are consuming a so called legal product that is sold to the public. The part I don't get is if Cigs kill you so early in life most of us won't collect our Social Securty payments and what we paid in will be lost into the system to cover other things needed. So I guess we have paid twice and non/smokers will live long years and use my money I paid in? So maybe people who don't smoke should pay more because they will collect those checks for a lot longer. This makes about as much sence as me picking up the tab for it paying big taxes on cigs. Mark H.

taxpayers don't pay for my medical insurance. I did. I worked at a job I hated for 20 years so no body but me (through my insurance company) pays. States won a big law suit, and were given money for smoking related health insurance. But they blew it. I pay big bucks as taxes on my smoking. A heck of a lot more then I ever payed for the health insurance part of my retirement. I have never took one penny of welfare for health or anything else. Its like paying high gas tax I pay to fix pot holes in California and live on a dirt road I have to maintain cause the county-state-feds wont. I don't smoke in anybodies house but mine (and one neighbor who smokes in mine), I go to a resturant with others I ask for no smoking. If I end up in a nursing home (I'll shoot my self first) I have the means for pay for it with out any government assistaance.

Sorry, sore subject with me.

Aint one word you said that I dont agree with

Kraig,
I really agree with all you said and feel. I get tired of the babys crying about freedoms being taken away cause of the patriot act and other things. I will and have done, what I want to do and if there are concequences I am man enough to accept them. I am responsible for my own actions. I love life as it is for me and I am at peace with people so I don't walk around angry all the time.

I think GWB is doing a great job.

When are you getting down this way again to visit your brother? Hope to see you then. Bring your bride this time.

Have a great year and take care of those horses.

Yeah, Now about that steak Kraig dropped. Have you guys and gals ever heard about the 30 second rule? That's if you scoop it up before 30 seconds have passed, you get it before the germs have a chance to contaminate it.

"Helen A. Handbasket"

ROFLMAO!

Reminds me of one of my favorite lines: "Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?"

Jet9N    Posted 12-31-2003 at 13:50:44       [Reply]  [No Email]
Question is how long will the handbasket be able
to take the heat before you are on your own?
