Man 30 - 45 MPH winds all night -23 wind chill and 6 degs out. We had snow and drifting. Been this way now for 2 days. Neibors had to be plowed out because of 4 ft drifts and I bet they are drifted in again today. One of my flags is gone off the pole except the gromets that held it. Mark H.

hasn,t been like this here since i moved down this end off the road and that would be in 87.course i think it was worse then or maybe i wasn,t as prepared.this one is a bad one especially for folks who aren,t used to it .thank GOD i have a roof over my head and heat , i can,t imagine those that are living on the street, dealing with this.

We have a neibor with horses that has no water, hay of shelter for them. 2 of them died last year the rest will probley be gone this week. The last time they were called on he happened to have a bale of hay for 7 horses so they could not do anything about it. Now he is down to 5 and I feel sorry for the horses he should be put out in this weather along with them to see what it is like! Mark H.

i hate to hear stuff like that , they need hay to generate their heat, and they usually drink more water when it is really cold like this, i think the water is a bit warmer for them and they definately need at least a wind break, had a guy like that here , a few years ago, when i went down to the other place to feed the cows id put some extra hay in the truck and stop and throw it over the fence to them , was usually dark ,but i happened to notice a set of foot prints on the side of the road , here my other neighbour a lady who loves horses was sneaking over and feeding them some too she was short of hay herself and her husband would of went nuts if he found out so she,d go over when nobody was around, horses were well fed any way haha.if they can,t look after them they shouldn,t have them imo anyways.

Real hard to get to this guys place now. He has about 4 ft of drifts for a mile or so on his drive. He could have brought hay in befor but now he will say I can't get it to them that why there isn't any. The horses may make it to another neibors place with horses and he will call the cops and have them picked up. It is sad you realy can't do anything till they start dieing. N0 Body likes the guy and he is a free loader on every ones elses backs! Mark H.

yup we some like that around here too , one woman calls herself a trainer, horses won,t go near anybody when shes finished with them, the spca has been there so many times because of staving , horses , dogs and a bunch of other animals , i don,t know why they want them if they can,t look after them , if it was just hard times or something people would help out but it,s every year, but they have new trucks , and car, even a new horse be ashame to let people see the horses if they were mine.
