Hello all , First time here , looking for info on a john deere gator winch ,Been looking at the warn 2.5ci,3.0ci series. The winch is for hauling small logs out of the woods , about 4ft long and no wide than i can lift , been cleanning up wind damage around the property. I live In Nova scotia. I work the gator in a Horse Barn, Cattle farm , Dairy farm and in the woods as well , just to give you an idea of what I do , I know it is slow but boy it can haul , I get almost 1/2 cord on back with my side rails.and about the same when I haul my wagon behind.
What type of tires are out there as well . And can you put a 22X10-8 on the front instead of the 22.5x10-8 ? Thanks for any help
Ron

I owned a "Superwinch 1500" on my last Yamaha Kodiak ATV, worked great, used it to lift snow blade up and down, I never had any problems with it. I traded Kodiak for a Yamaha Grizzly 660, I bought a Warn 2500lb winch for it, it is one tough winch. The Warn is a much better winch in my opinion than the "Superwinch", it even sounds much better when it is running. The Superwinch is cheaper, but the 2500# Warn winch can be bought with "remote thumb control" switch for about $250, these Warn winches cost about $450-$500 just a couple of years ago. I have used mine to move big trees with it, and I was impressed!! Smooth running winch!

Hi Ron,
I picked up a "2000lb. superwinch" made for ATV's for $129. and made a front bumper mount for my gator. in some cases, its not strong enough to pull my gator out of situtations i get it in with out a pulley and doubled cable. i have a rough sketch of the mount if it could be of any help to you.
