Just an update on my teeny house in the big woods. I
have footers....footings....foot.....FEET.

For those who somehow missed my regaling in painful
detail - I'm building a small house (1008sqft) on 2 acres
in PA. Well, I'm having it built by somebody else. It's
one level, passive solar, woodstove, slab floored.

BTW I finally found an ofuro (Japanese soaking tub)
that I can actually afford, and a custom Sunoko (the
cedar mat for the shower floor).

Things is coming together.
Paula

Congratulations, and kudos for pursuing your dreams!

If I might ask, where did you get the ofuro? I've looked into them but they always seemed pretty darned expensive!

I got the ofuro from Ann Sacks Designs
(www.annsacks.com). It was quite a coup since all the
ofuro I found were either wooden (which I was not
interested in maintaining) or reaaaaaaally expensive
(like 10ks). I found the add in a better homes and
gardens magazine. Ann Sacks has a tub called Onzen
that is 48"x48"x31"deep for $1400.00. I counted the
zeros twice and called the showroom in DC. I couldn't
believe it. What was the catch? Was it crappy? So I
drove down to DC and sat in it and asked AGAIN if it
was fourteen hundred.

Still 2x my tub budget but I would have to come up with
that $700.00 right? They even had a builder price.

Hope this helps.
Paula

I started to post something Al Bundy from Married With Children might have said, then I thought better of it. Glad things are progressing some for you.
