I thought OSB was compresion formed,no glue like plywood or partcal board. If you take a utillity knife and cut around a chip in the board it'll come out clean.

i don,t know dave the stuff we get up here , we were always told not to burn it because of the glue they use and not to burn anything pressured treated either. i could be wrong on the osb but that s what i was always told and i think there was something in the paper once about it and recycling, can,t really remember though.i would think if you were outside in the open you wouldn,t have to worry.maybe i,ll try a search on it and see if i can find anything out you got me curious now .

one site where its made in the states said they use a wax and thermosetting resins, and a british columbia site says they use a wax and glues and the only difference seems to be the type of wood they use,its not allowed in europe due to its large chemical emmission from the GLUE in the board, never read the whole site but i think i will , if the costs were comparable i think i would use ply.

the one i found dave said it had formaldehyde, and another one called methylene diphenyl disocyanate, not sure how much or what they are except they are some kind of chemicals, i have heard about the formaldehyde before,if i was goin to burn osb i would do it where i wouldn,t have to be around it i guess, and if i build and ply is comparable in price i think i would opt for the ply ,knowing what i know now.probably safe enough to build with though .
