Back in those days the higher up all wore wigs (?) My question is where did they get the hair from to make the wigs? Most were' nt bald ( I Think)so why not just grow longer hair

I think I remeber reading that the white of thier wigs ment they were pure of heart and intentions and could not lie.

don't know but in australia, solicitors (lawyers) still wear powdered wigs. now if you expect me to keep from LMAO while being cross-examined by some shyster who's trailing powder, might as well sentence me now! i mean hey, does he have a permit for that concealed sling? bad enough most of our pompous judges still choose to sit behind glorified altars, but that's so darn far from a circle of peers, those poor peons haven't touched the 20th century yet. contempt doesn't begin to describe my opinion toward such unmitigated lawfulness. :)

The hair came from poor people. The wealthy wore wigs - both on their heads and, uh, other places - because of fleas and lice. Shave all the hair off and there isn't any place for the fleas and lice to hide. At least that's the theory, ever havng had either of them I wouldln't know from personal experience.
