Got this in my work email this morning. Thought I'd share it. Timing is everything, huh?

"We have been informed that Publishers Clearinghouse began mass mailing
promotional samples of a cleaning powder detergent in the last few days.
The sample is a one and a half-pound package with a return address of:
720 Winners Circle, St. Cloud, MN

With the current attention on unknown substances, emergency personnel will
likely receive numerous calls concerning white powdery substances in/on mail
when this mailing reaches your location. To minimize the surge in requests
for assistance, we wanted to brief all personnel on the potential arrival of
this promotional mailing."

Hey Stretch. My wife works for a kaolin(chalk) industry. They had a sample arive at the post office a few weeks ago with a leak. The post office called 911 and evacuated the area. Then they questioned the employee it was addressed to. He assured them it was ok as he was expecting it, but no go. They spent several hours investigating and testing with the suits on. In the end they found the employee was correct, just a sample of chalk.

What's confusing is the post office before this one placed it in another box which covered the return address.

We've had several calls here on base. All of them were so rediculous it wasn't even funny. The last one got a cold shower from a fire hose in the parking lot after dark. She had to strip and put on coveralls too. She wasn't real happy.

I'm not trying to belittle the risk, but without giving out the me, it was a waste of our time and resources. But if they insist on playing the game, we will play by all the rules.

Stretch- This notice don't sound right to me. Something's fishy here...

What's a magazine peddling outfit doing messing around with laundry soap powder? If true their timing is super poor.

My recommendation is to mark any package that comes "REFUSED--RETURN TO SENDER!" After that go wash your hands real good. IHank

Hey, it's got to be true. It came on genuine U.S. gubmint email!

It really did, but I tend to agree with ya. Sounds like an awful big package too. And I've been on enough "suspicious package" calls to last a while.

Actually posted it more as a grin than a warning.
