Me and my new Rabbit House

Just showing off my new rabbit house. Love raising rabbits. Now my rabbit have a decent place to live. Before I had the rabbits all bunched up in a two compartment hutch that was left here by the previous owner and a wire cage I had. This new rabbit home has six compartment, each with a front living room and a rear nesting area. Plenty off morticing went into the construction. Should last a while. Only problem is with the way rabbits are I think I need to plan to build a few more. I have seven adult rabbits right now.

Hey Carl - that is one FINE rabbit house. Good job and thanks for posting it. This is why I am on this board. A lot of flaming going on right now - I ignore it ;-) Thanks again.

Now thats a fine rabbit house! And this is exactly what I like to see on this site, not junk, but people sharing their life with others. Looks real nice. What kind of rabbits do you have? I just love all the different kinds they have at the rabbit/cavy show at the fair in Perry, Ga in October.

Got Black ones, White ones, Gray ones and one multi colored one. Not really sure as to what breeds they are. I have just picked them up at flea markets and auctions.
When I moved hear from Mississippi I brought with me my favorite rabbit. He was solid white except he had black eyes with black fur around his eyes that was shaped like human eyes. People would really do a double take when they saw him. He looked really neat. Unfortunately I guess a Wesel got a hold of him. That hutch that was left here had too big of openings in the side.
I may later try to locate the more expensive or rarer breeds to raise. But for now I'm just enjoying the ones I have.

I had me an Angora, black and white one time, lol, It chased my cats, instead of them chasing it. He was mean as fire! Never let up on the poor cats if they got on the floor, he was chasing them. I ended up giving him to a friend of ours that had other rabbits. He was a lot to handle in the house. Always getting into something! :)

Sounds like you got a nice bunch a rabbits.

Geez, Kelly, I guess you just ain't interested in the harvesting of ice down there in Jawjah. Ice was a pretty important commodity a few generations ago. One of my uncles was an ice man. We used to trade milk for ice with him until we finally got our first refrigerator in 1955. That's about the time my uncle got out of the ice business and became a plumber.
