I like a liberal helping of right wing conservatism, does that mean I'm in the group?

Shame on uall. Your getting to political on this Kountry board. This is no place to vent your political beliefs or gage what the rest of middle America feels.

Fawteen    Posted 01-14-2004 at 06:59:01       [Reply]  [No Email]
Not that I particularly enjoy the pi$$ing contests political posts tend to generate, but why NOT here?

Jim    Posted 01-14-2004 at 07:30:25       [Reply]  [No Email]
It just ain't Kountry. Got to be discussing the fields, how to needle point, how to bake biscuits and other down home exciting drivel.

In case no one noticed I did throw in a Hardies Bisquit and Hot Milk Cake recipe in the mix!!
I think it is possible to mix recipes, cows, bunnies, ice harvests, weather, religion and politics all on one message board!

I came here from another board that makes this one look and read like a Sunday school discussion group. I love it! I like being able to read or post without every other word being a f*** this or that.

On that other board I felt like I needed to wash my ears and take a shower after reading there. I stayed out of most discussions cause they were so foul mouthed.

This board has folks who actually have a vocabulary of words that have more than four letters in them. Opposite views are fine and refreshing when they can be expressed without filth.

Love this place! Wish I was part of "the group".

I like bisquits, bunnies, ice harvests too. But like any good recipe, this board did need a little spicy seasoning. The end product seemed a little bland at times. Don't get me wrong. I dislike fowl language and always felt ones lack of vocabulary skills prompts fowl language. Some people just cannot voice strong opinions without the use of 4-letter words.

Well, I'll give ya that one then...

Got a good recipe for sheep dip? ":^)

Looks like the girls are getting up now. I better get off the board. Ask one of them about the dip.

I'm not a liberal I'm a libertarian. And as for the rural
areas being full of conservatives; speaking
stereotypically I find rural areas full of libertarians and
such folks as resent being pigeonholed by any party or
way of thinkng.

They's lots of Liberals out here in the puckerbrush. Howsomever, most of 'em are either retired desk-jockey professionals or school teachers. It has been my casual observation that most folks that work at some sort of physical labor tend to be Conservatives. ( The foregoing is the opinion of the poster, and does not necessarily reflect the position of anyone else on the planet. Void where prohibited. Your mileage may vary. Batteries not included. Some assembly required. Taxed in those portions of Massachusetts east of the 495 beltway, New York City, and various other dens of Liberality. )

Being it's a free country and all, I got no beef with Liberals as people. I've even met a few that truly believe everything they say, and make an obvious effort to live a life that is in tune with their beliefs.

The other side of that "free country" coin is, I have just as much right to try to punch holes in thier beliefs as they do to try to foist them off on me.

Ain't 'Merica wonderful?

I think there are more liberals than conservatives in my part of Missouri. And that's their right, just as it's mine to be conservative. When I find the "perfect person" in either party, I'll follow that person. Until then, I'll just blunder along as always.

ALIAS    Posted 01-14-2004 at 06:39:40       [Reply]  [No Email]
I live the democratic controlled state of Maryland. But, our last democratic govenor did such a bad job, the people here elected a republican to that post. Of course, I'm just a natural born skeptic, so, I don't expect he'll do much better. Just by way of mention, I am a registered republican. So, I suppose that makes me a moderate conservative.

ret    Posted 01-14-2004 at 07:03:28       [Reply]  [No Email]
well, we do know one thing, Bush is sure not a conservative, and seems like very few of our rep leaders are either. Spend Spend Spend is the order of the day in this congress, and have yet to see the veto pen used.
REt, who has a hard time now finding any difference in our political parties

I don't mind 'liberals' in the least...It is Communists and Socialists I can't stand...

;-)

I'm with you and ret. Personally I'm so conservative, I make Rush look like a New Deal Democrat.
Too many "liberals" are closet socialists. I don't care for him, but at least Bernie has the nads to call himself what he is.
I agree with ret, which is why I'm not a registered Republican. Too many RINO's (Republican In Name Only).
