Could you give me a little more information? What kind of tracking dog, and what do you want to track?

i have a basset hound and from what i've read their noses are second only to bloodhounds. my cousin has a 1/2 bloodhound 1/2 basset female that i'm going to breed him with sometime this year, and i'll keep my pick of the litter.
i would like to see if i can train to man track
but would also like to rabbit hunt with them also.
can this be done or is it better to keep them on one kind of track..
